Nice summary of the game Nina, I feel a bit for Gusto at the moment. I think we forget how well he has done filling in for James in that slot. Plus have you noticed how often he has been the most forward of our players in recent games? I don't think James has the legs to get up and down like Gusto and I worry about that hamstring popping again. I was disappointed in Maresca's substitutions as I think the game was there for the taking. I agree Wesley was at fault, but I still don't think Sanchez needed to bring Hajlund down. It was a curiously flat game at times and I certainly can see why the United pundits were arguing about a lack of pattern to their play. Looking forward to Thursday and, gulp, Sunday 🙂.

Hi Nina, you need to look a bit deeper. We lost there last season 1-4!!!!!!! 1-1 is a big improvement, with almost the same teams on both sides. The only chance we had is when Enzo kicked over the bar, but United, if only they had a better strikers , could have score 4-5 goals with better finishing. Chelsea were very lucky. United is a very good team, i believe new coach eventually will guide them up, but Maresca loves to make things complicated. Palmer and specially Jackson were very flat, and not to play Nkunku and Felix was a shocking decision to me. Mudrik came on, and looked like under 10 player, credit to him he was involved in Caicedo goal. Overall , draw is good, but 0-0. clean sheet could be better

It was a 2-1 loss last season, and that was an awful performance. Maybe the performance was slightly better this year but I agree United could’ve punished us with better end product. Draw was fair

I agree about Gusto, and I hope that the Reece on the left experiment is over, as well. It frustrates me that Nkunku isn't getting more game time, even in games like yesterday when Jackson wasn't providing any goal threat. Also Felix is always capable of a moment of magic. Although we are heading in the right direction we still have a long way to go, and I thought Maresca was poor yesterday.

As always great upload Nina! I’m happy with the point and being 4th! Let’s be honest last season at this stage we were struggling. We new United we’re going to be difficult, Ruud on the touch line incoming mew manager but with all that they were there for the taking and we didn’t shift the gears. I’m feeling positive going into the Arsenal game, hopefully we will hit those gears and get the 3pts! I’m seeing ridiculous fan reactions moaning Cole doesn’t show up for big games, how quickly they can turn! Anyway happy we are 4th and I know Arsenal fans are more nervous about Sunday than us! Just reiterate that it's a shame we showed them too much respect, experimented with the line up a bit and didn't go for it given the form our attack has been in. Yes it does work lol, in the first half every action in Man Utd penalty area came through Gusto because he was the extra man, if Gusto final ball/decision making was better we could have been 2 or 3 up at half time. When Cucurella came on even though he had a better game than Gusto, we got worse because he wasn't getting into the same positions as Malo was when he was inverting. The problem at the moment with Chelsea fans is that most of them don't actually understand how Maresca plays. The reason we didn't win that game wasn't because of Gusto, it was because Man Utd played a game that we didn't want to play. We like to build from the back and beat the opposition press,.but there was no press to beat, it got to the point players were walking out to the halfway line with the ball without any pressure. In the final third Man Utd sat in a low block of 6 players and we struggled to play through them.

Nina great review, that performance left me worried, we looked scared especially in that final third, this utd was there for taking but we dropped one of our most boring displays of the season, and it got me questioning maresca, we had been playing fantastic until he decided this nonsense of reece and gusto in the same lineup, gusto is struggling in those midfield pockets, reece is more effective as an attacker, he is playing as one of the 3 defenders, this is hurting us. Cucurella is perfect for this system with his intensity and aggressiveness, why change what has being working before? Noni needs sometime on the bench, since that wolves game, he has being poor. We have to turn up against Arsenal or else its going to be a long day for us

The game was a let down in all honesty. Sloppy in possession and very flat for large parts of the game. Both teams didn't seem to want to win. Individual players that stood out:James,moises and neto. Everyone else was pretty bang average. Sanchez jeez Louise how many more times are we gonna say his name for the wrong reasons. I thought wes was again making poor passes into midfield and losing possession in his own half. This 2 rbs isn't working our wingers can't be as effective like you said Nina with Noni not being able to be explosive. Malo not making enough runs for noni on the outside. Cole and Nico very quiet and flat rarity for these 2. I actually thought when Marc came on he actually helped us a little bit. But overall It's an ok point we move nice analysis Nina

Gusto didn't maximise his touches, but putting him in midfield along with Lavia and Caicedo gives the whole team the best balance. You don't only just look at on ball situations, OOP is just as important as well.

If we are playing James then it has to be as right back, Maresca has to stop playing 2 right backs in the back 4. Asking Gusto to invert has ruined his confidence By doing this Maresca has upset the whole structure and balance of the team.

Football has lost its spark. Only Cole Palmer seems to be the only one with a licence to play his game. Nobody was willing to take on defenders in attack, passing around 🤦🏽‍♂️. We wasting players away by trying to reinvent football. He stated 2 players per position but that’s never the case. Nkunku, Felix can provide that creativity when Palmer is not playing well. There was a play which he could’ve have squared Neto but opted to shoot. I think we have put our eggs in one basket and can’t see any other way to play.

Hi Nina, Im not going to say that having Gusto as an inverted full back can NOT work…..certainly only after a couple of games and the bloke is only 21 yrs of age. It’s certainly better than playing Colwill at left back, which was the preferred choice last season…..I think Cucurella will be back in for Arsenal, but what fantastic options we have when they are all fit…..I’m including Veiga in that too.
