This is a competition that we should always be aiming to win, as shown during the Mourinho era it was often a springboard to bigger and better things. I feel particularly sorry for the fans that travelled to the game, but onwards and upwards.

Performance all round was poor!!! Didn't understand why Maresca underestimated Newcastle by making 11 wholesale changes? I know we got Utd on the weekend but at the same time he should've gone half strong and not making any subs apart from Noni was strange

That was very disappointing. How many A team player were on the benches. Manger should of sent them on. We're chelsea. We fight to the end. We fight to win in ever game. this is the Chelsea. I now Hope this is the last big mistake Enzo M makes. We did have some big chances. But am upset that he did put the subs on. Bad mojo tactics . I like seeing chelsea winning cups. 2022 was last time we won a trophy. Club World Cup. 2015 last time we won league cup (sorry. Am very old. This was Maresca"s first major mistake! He should have played the first team to ensure a win and the substituted in 5 players to rest the most pivotal players for this weekend! All our guys are young and should be able to rigors of two matches per week! I used to play two matches a day when I was their age! This competition should have been a priority for sure! Keep up the spot on the analysis, Nina!

I had started to warm to Maresca, but after last night he's gone way down in my estimation. Playing out from the back, with players that cant pass a ball is criminal, if we persist with this, then I'm afraid we're winning nothing.

It was a bad performance, I didn’t recognize us, we had zero cohesion, zero intensity, we just ghosted through the game. It’s a cup game ffs, it’s the possibility of silverware! Maresca didn’t change up his tactics, Newcastle played the high press first half and got the goals then bunkered in second half, we were out couched and there was zero change in our approach. Felix needs to put those chances away if he wants regular first team games, Chelsea have always been a fighting cup game team, yesterday was a whimper and cop out. I feel for our traveling fans who had to watch that sh&t show. 😢

What's good Nina? Yesterday was poor. It was almost a pre season game it felt like we had KDH playing at right wing. Feneandez was poor again. Benoit and Axel looked like they were playing in the park. Christopher was poor as well making no runs in behind everyone wanted the ball to feet and that allowed Newcastle to just sit cos they weren't tested. I would have liked carney to play why not play him I don't know. An attacking player instead of KDH. And once again Nina every week the GK. It wasnt the strongest back four in front of him but not a commanding GK. Overall just poor.

Look at the bright side, we don't have to play more games in EFL and reduce travel times. Every trophy matters but I think we should focus on EPL, CFL and FA. I'm glad we lost the game. Otherwise, players don't have time for rest.

We threw the game..very simple. Since pre-season, our squad has been really good (even in losses, we've been hungry to win or equalize), manager's made great decisions for the squad lineup and subs later in the game, and the team itself has been up for it. Did not see any of that yesterday. One sub used. KDH as RW? wtf was that? HA! Enzo Fernandez turnover after turnover after turnover. Bady and Disaster Class really need to be offloaded during Jan transfer window. How are they playing in the EPL let alone Chels? The only 2 players that apparently didn't get the memo were Cucu and Misha both on the left and everything remotely purposeful went through them. CFC need to compensate the away travelers. Also, Enzo's post conference interview...bloody hell! First time I thought "what is he waffling on about" most Poch/Potter sounding BS i've heard (but also proof the game was thrown) We'll beat the tar out of ManU, watch. COYB
