In my opinion, as a country, we need to investigate what is the story behind the story....Something is not adding up!!!! Do we know whether the food from the manufacturer tested for the chemical??? Or is it at the township shop level only????🤔 Should we as a country be alarmed and concerned????? We as a country need transparency on this matter
@DrAndy_Alpha2 күн бұрын
If you know actually think about it why is it only kids dying ? Adults eat these foods as well and even the spaza shop owners this chemicals is highly toxic and can actually affect you even if it’s on your clothes in the hospital if you’re exposed to this and come to emergency they have to actually dispose of all your clothes even as a health care worker your clothes should be disposed of
@matrix00852 күн бұрын
@DrAndy_Alpha Thanks for sharing,much appreciated. This govt is not transparent on the matter. Schools are closing soon, we all must have a plan of action, or the numbers are going to rocket. We also need to be informed at ground level we can put measures in place. Registered shops is long term, but has the products been removed and destroyed in the shops, or it will just continue!!!!
@matrix00852 күн бұрын
@@DrAndy_Alpha Sir my first thought, was maybe they were drugged for human trafficking, the dose was strong, then when it was released that the chemical is POSION, I wondered what is actually going on, because it's children 5- 9yrs only!!!
@DrAndy_Alpha2 күн бұрын
@ yeah you know with organophosphate is actually quite lethal and serious emergency which requires a specific antidote if I can say to neutralise it even then a lot of patient require intubation to be able to even breathe so for let’s say drugging and immobilising it’s not the best agent because it’s quite lethal and hard to manage something better would be maybe like diazepam used to treat insomnia and anxiety but something isn’t adding up I agree
@DrAndy_Alpha2 күн бұрын
@@matrix0085 I believe the only course to avoid buying for now , but something is coming up . Because if you look at it these shops use the pesticides to kill rodents I guess why is it only this year all the sudden all these deaths are taking place. And when they sent environmental specialists to examine some of the products in one of the places where a child died they found in prelim investigation no contamination so it’s quite a case needs heavy investigation but all kids and adults refrain from buying for now

I was so afraid to lose my class learners that I told them not to share, buy other than cooked and given by their parents. Watched a Documentary on DW few months back on Food Mafia in retail business in Europe. South Africa is missing something and the big problem, which is the value chain in itself its corrupt. I’m not saying I condone Pakistanis selling expired foods , these people are buying from a larger value chain, it’s a system corrupted marketplace where disposed goods are bought. Retail Giants also in Europe were found to be also part of this. So South Africa is following the wrong solution for handling the crisis, I like how Kzn police are going about investigating the port warehouses first. Prof is 💯 on his analysis.

Personally, I think checking the expiry date is a waste of time! There are systems to erase expiry date and reprint the expiry date. The food just needs to be tested in a lab if possible, to determine whether they are good and healthy for consumption so that scientific results can be arrived at. Most of us know that these guys manufacture stuff themselves that is similar to the original one - therefore checking the expiry alone does not mean that one can safely consume the food if still valid!
