Homelessness is not a crime. We have to pay morguages,rent etc. The Homeless have to pay by being law abiding. I know in today's world, many homeless people are being inflationed out of homes. I truly feel for them and volunteer to feed homeless people.

There are many people who are elderly homeless that worked their whole lives. At any age, one illness or accident with no support system can render a person homeless. All of this money to prosecute the most vulnerable as criminals or undesirables could have been spent on affordable housing, government assistance and healthcare. Most addicted people are addicted because of early trauma in life or parents who were not parents. Watching this is making me sick! Most people just don't get it.

Thank you so much to try and bring out the person in the cop.😊❤😊 Let them talk. I personally see them put in a hated position, with sweep. First a meeting ( roll call) then Sargent tells them what they are detailed out to do sweep. They are put in a no win solution. If Homeless would keep there area around there tents a little cleaner, in my Humble opinion they probably won't be hassled so much living on sidewalk. Homeless must remember that sidewalk is a right of way for all people.

I heard this was going to happen a long time ago when I was homeless in Bakersfield 2012-2018, I was still a teenager then and the older people on the street would say the cops had plans to round up all the homeless one day. As I remember prior to 2020 they would harass you on suspicion of being homeless, happened to me more than once, I heard they became toothless after the virus hit. I noticed the homeless population had exploded just in the last few years whenever I go back up there I see it. I always warn people stay out of Bakersfield the towns no good, bad cops and no jobs, the county doesn't give a crap about anything, drug problem on par with any major city. Wouldn't want to move back. Majority of these homeless people are neglected by the county. Theres no housing programs in the Kern. LA county got me off the street, there's so many programs here if you don't like the one you're in you can just walk on over to the next one. Out there it's Bakersfield homeless shelter or nothing. All that has been built recently are low capacity facilities and still no actual housing units to move people on to from interim. Terrible planning as usual from my hometown.

Today homeless individuals are to blame for their situation? Being poor is their fault? We have WORKING families living under bridges. It’s hardly the workers fault if wages in an area are not enough to live on. Your first day working at Walmart they have employees help you sign up for food stamps! So who is on food stamps? The worker? Or Walmart? It’s Walmart! Walmart is using our tax dollars so their employees can eat because they refuse to pay them enough to live on.

It sucks to be homeless, and it sucks more when state laws, counties, or city ordaninces will give you a criminal record for trying to find a place to rest. If it's private property, the owner can ask you to leave. You are trespassing if you refuse to leave. You can also be trespassed from a public space if you commit a crime. City ordaninces are not laws. They are a contributing factor to civil rights violations. States like CA have "no liotering" laws and policies where you can't remain in any public area without official business. This alone should not be allowed. Homelessness can make a neighborhood or state property look bad by the condition; however, there could be a development to help those without homes to have a place to eat, sleep, and take care of hygiene. Thus making an appealing area, where people can have the chance to get a job, a new home, and treatment deserving of any human being. If we can send billions to other countries for war, we can use taxes to improve our communities without punishment.

They are using a drone here in san jose to fly around and find "lived in cars and rv's" and either ticket us or tow our property if they can find a reason. There needs to be a story done on it because its the first city in the country to use drones in this manner
