Loved this, done something just as mad when back when I was a teenager, three of us went out to Little Cumbrae Island from Portencross in a kids inflatable with a hole in the front (had to keep blowing it up with only our mouths to inflate it) and only two paddles for power. When we got to the island the owner threw us off so we paddled round the corner and sneaked back on. On the way back we lost one of the paddles, met a fishing boat who gave us hell for being so stupid, but made it back to tell the story. That's what lives about, great adventures to look back on. Well done guys and keep the adventures coming.

Brilliant guys 5 minutes into any of your video’s clearly shows your not young reprobates but guys to lead other youngster on the right paths. Life is for living you guys clearly show that. Although I did not go with with you I took it as a heartened offence that customs and life guards wanted to see you lot. You don’t need a passport or permission to go to the Isle of Man they should thank you guys for putting another story apart from TT on the map for the IOM. At your age I am not sure if could of been so forgiving of how they thought of you. Hats off for keeping your feelings under control. The IOM should be PRIVILEGED to have you guys on their island. These lads with no imagination say there is nothing out there for them but DRUGS.I tell them all about you guys,you age what you have accomplished with a lot of imagination and planning. I tell them that’s the best HIGH you can get because it’s REAL. I am so jealous of you guys I only wish I put my mind into something like guys have done and it’s all with in a poor man’s reach. I remember canoeing with Durham kayak club all over various parts of north uk and west coast the few run ins we had with petty officials who linked us with our sea kayaks as one step up from air beds. Yes we just ignored them and yes I’m still here today forty years on only now on my own sailing a little French Astus trimaran.

Yes and no. On your own, with no equipment, possibly. In a group with two other boat, it is much less insane. Personally, I think this journey was epic. The authorities hate anyone that doesn't allow themselves to be herded like dumb sheep. More power to OYZ is my view!

Wow, 30 miles in three inflatables with outboards is a record that will last for years. People swam the channel, 21 miles and you think you done something? That harrowing hour and half to two hours from shore to shore must have be fraught with danger. The smallest boat to cross the Atlantic was 5ft 4inches, April Fool, sailed by American sailor, Hugo Vihlen in 1993, no motor, only sail. Seamen have rowed or sailed smaller sinkable wooden skiffs for hundreds of years on the same route before your hollow risk of life and limb in inflatables on a clam sea. You should be embarrassed, by talking the talk, instead of walking the walk.

@@OutsideYourZone You set out with a faulty engine, punctured boat and inadequate knowledge of navigation, tides, heading vs bearing etc, as said you were lucky. Exploration like this is fantastic but you would never see any dedicated exploration team set out as poorly prepared as you did.

We had plenty of knowledge of navigation and tides hence leaving at the time we did. The engine and boat were faulty but the video would have been very boring without that. Appreciate what you are saying tho, we were just focused on making an epic film! Thanks For the feedback Ian

There was a reason why we chose the 21st of July at 5:50. It was the most favourable conditions of the year. We had planned for every contingency and had enough vessels that if something went wrong we would be fine. Our original course would have been fine, but we were let down by the technology. The trusty old compass sorted us out. We are a dedicated adventure team and we were prepared.

We also had team members and members of the RNLI on the cliffs at St bees head with the binoculars, ready for any contact on channel 69, we took every precaution and were successful, but we appreciate the feedback. OYZ!
