Investigating Beware #4 | The Mines Pt. 1

After only 3 days part 4 of investigating beware is here. In this episode, we look at the new mine area in the Pateron exclusive preview version of the game and begin to unlock the secrets of the mines. As this episode was beginning to get too long, I decided to split it into 2 parts, with the 2nd part hopefully coming out by this Friday. Enjoy!

Someone on Discord figured out the quarry is modeled after Garzweiler mine in Germany. Nearby is a power plant Neurath, the newest two blocks of that plant look a lot like the ones in the game.

Given how the castle is on a hill, but there's also the futuristic vehicles, this may have been Hazmburk in the past, but over the years, the surroundings got converted to the powerplant and coal mine.

I checked the map and found that Hazmburk is actually really far away from the slapy hydroelectric power station(the huge dam in the game)

Dude these beware videos are brilliant! I am deeply interested in the lore of this game, I have a theory, the goons are this coal power plant PMC, and are being payed to take over green electric plants, so the coal powerplants can have more profit.

note about the gates: just because they dont have an attached script or rigidbody doesnt necessarily mean they cant move, for one, you can just update the position (which i get that you were using the no rigidbodies as a point to say "it was never intended to have physics either" which paired with the lack of script would imply theres no way it could move), and for two, you can have alot more creativity with position-based movement, due to not being constrained by the psuedo-realistic physics simulations of a rigidbody, and also, the fact it doesnt have a script on it doesnt mean it cant have scripted behavior, scripts outside of an object can simply run GameObject.Find() to access other objects in the scene, which is impractical for this use case but still proves that it can be accessed outside of it own scripts if need be.

I made an update video a while back updating the walking mod to v001 but that is only walking and noclip.
