One of those UPS drivers saved a boy's life one time. We were down by the creek, watching a flash flood, and a boy fell in. His body washed up on the bank a little ways down, and we thought he was dead. The UPS truck had just driven up across the river. He saw what was going on, drove through the raging water to the other side, and started CPR on the kid.

Finally had a chance to listen to this episode. This was an amazing episode. I loved hearing Mike tell about his relationship with Sam’s father, and probably a gift to Sam to hear about the interactions of someone who knew his dad as an adult.

Very good, thank you. The question about how do you make a 14 year old girl aware that "marrying" at that age is against Utah law was interesting. I suppose if you are taught al your life that the law of the state is wrong (eg even here in the UK a Catholic girl might be told abortion is a moral wrong so would not believe it was okay despite the law saying so) is an illustration of that issue. At what age particular countries set the age of consent (16 in the UK with age for marriage in England rising to 18 in 2023, but not the age for couples to have relations) also makes it hard for people to know what is the moral wrong. In the Little House on the Prairie books writing about the 1800s I always remember a bit in the Shores of Silver Lake being surprised at hose the marriage of a 13 year old was regarded then - Laura and her cousin thought it was too young to have the responsibility of a child to look after, but no one wrote that it was an affront or moral wrong. If Warren J has just followed the law and married girls a bit older he could have avoided most of this trouble. It is not as if his religious faith says girls have to marry at 14 by any means at all.

I left the Roman Catholic church before the child molestation became public knowledge. But for my mother I don't think she ever came to terms with it. I think priests should marry, but she was aghast at the idea. But for the children involved it spiritually twists them. Personally I turned to the New Testament because this is Christianity. It is what Christ taught and I think he is a very good role model.

People are so pressured to stay in the church and tithe. No organization does this except that it's profitable for those at the top . At the same time, so many positions done by volunteers. Does it occur to anyone that purchases of "sacred" items, such as rare books or plates are a form of money laundering? Where does that money go?

He said the FBI also sent him a copy of the Merrianne Jessop tape and another tape where Warren admitted to SA-ing his own sisters and also denying being the prophet.

As an ex-Mormon, I know first hand that it's not only the FLDS cult that sexually abuse children. SA happens in the LDS cult as well. In fact, SA occurs in all religions. IMO all religions are cults. Happy to be an ex-Mormon atheist. I love Sam and Melissa.

Is Willy Jessop still an active member in the FLDS? I know he owns Warren Jeff's home and turned it into a hotel. But I am also aware that his wives and children run the hotel. I was just cirous is he was a non member who has still chosen to be loyal to his wives.

What group is the FLDS group near Stockton, MO? Are they Polygamist’s?

Yes, that group practices plural marriage. They are independent of the FLDS. Some of them may have been part of the FLDS at some point in their family history, but that's never been clear to me. The Stockton/Humansville group has its roots in the Apostolic United Brethren (AUB) also known as the Allred Group, but it remains an independent sect since the early 1980s. In a sense, the Missouri sect as a whole does share common roots with the Short Creek polygamists. Long story short - the AUB split away from the base of the Short Creek polygamists in the mid-1950s after the death of Joseph White Musser. At issue in the split was, for lack of a better term, a succession dispute. After Musser's death, the Short Creek group followed Leroy Johnson as their prophet. The AUB leader was Rulon C. Allred. (Allred was murdered in 1977 on the order of Ervil LeBaron. That's a whole 'nother story about fundamentalist LDS families.)

You guys are much nicer than I am. I would think if you found out you were wrong and using GOD to justify all your past transgressions then spend the rest of your life trying to make amends. That would be closer to GOD than just continuing in the evil you thought was right. So, all those 85- and 65-year-olds should be donating and working big time for this organization to help these young people.

The problem is Mike is obviously devout main stream LDS. What he is failing to tell the viewers is at this same time frame when the state allocated all this money to investigate ritual sex abuse in Utah the daughter and son in law of Russell M Nelson the current prophet in 2023 was implicated in ritual sex abuse. This case was kicked out because the statutes of limitations were exceeded. The former governor of Utahs brother David Levitt is also under investigation for Ritual Sexual Abuse. I hope Mike would be able as a devote Mormon to be able to put victims first in these cases but like FLDS police officers did at the time don’t hold your breath. Mike is beholden to another cult. Perhaps a good cult like he refers to in this video.
