This is the Real Vision I loved in the past. Please bring this back more often. The deluge of mediocre content over the last 2-3 yrs dilutes stuff like this interview.

Exactly! People are so caught up in investing these days, younger people even don't know the value of trading. Excellent insights and conversation, gentlemen!

I'm curious, what did Venezuela do to the US or European countries that heavy handed sanctions were imposed against them? Could this someday change now that the west is realizing that Venezuelan oil could have helped in keeping the price down and thus inflation from that would not be so bad?

They nationalized a lot of the wells and pipelines, many of whoch were owned by US multinational oil companies namely Chevron and Exxon Mobil. That was during the Bush era and since Dick Cheney who was the real power player in that administration used to be the CEO of Halliburton, the oil companies had the rule of the roost in terms of foreign and domestic policy. Furthermore, Venezuelas left wing govt tended toward Cuba, Russia and China, which we know is a sin with the neocons. That’s about all

Venezuela nationalized it’s oil industry which wouldn’t have been a big deal except for the fact that they stole all the money that USA companies invested in the oil fields and refused to maintain the oil investments making them unprofitable and crippled its own oil output forever. If you mess with American oil companies you are basically messing with American government. For better or for worse that’s the truth. Now we have a situation where Venezuela is the smallest oil producer in the world sitting on the largest oil reserves in the world. Because the president stole billions and billions of dollars from the USA oil industry and no other country will fill the gap because they will do the same thing to anyone else. There you go.
