The "stock market" controls stock prices, but different factors influence the spot price of uranium. It appears that entities that stocked up on U3O8 when it was much cheaper are cashing in. This is the so-called secondary supply. Although the spot price affects stock market sentiment, and equity prices, the important prices are in the long-term contracts that utilities are signing with producers - and we don't have much idea about these.

This is great info. After selling some uranium stocks a month ago near the top, I just put a limit buy on them hopefully at a good price.

I have to very respectfully disagree...CCJ made it clear, they are short U and will have to buy in the open market to service those contracts. In the very near near term they are short spot price. That is (IMO) exactly what the market has priced in the past few weeks, hence the decline. Yes, there are buying points, but Cameco started this decline and rightfully so given that quarter reported. You will get them cheaper and you should buy as much as you can allocate to the sector at that time. I'm waiting for risk off, if I miss it then I miss it, but there is always the next exponential opportunity (like silver) which I am positioned for currently.

every producer should commit a part of their production to the spot market, otherwise their sport related contracts are just so easy to manipulate... the spot market needs more volume to get real price discovery

I don't care what anybody says, gold stocks are crap. I've been buying a lot over the last two years, I have so many of them and am pretty much down heavily on all of them. The cost of mining has gone through the roof. Even with higher gold prices nobody seems to give a crap.

The gold price is at a record high and the price of gold stocks has fallen substantially but even the royalty companies still pay a pathetic dividend if they pay any dividend at all. Maybe that's why they are so unloved
