Things are definitely looking better with the overall business. I know the PE does not say everything about a business, but just after this most recent earnings report, the PE was cut in half!! Hi Tom! Could you explain why 'Accrued expenses, accounts payable and other liabilities' from Alibaba's balance sheet is not factored into the net cash calculation? Looking at Alibaba's balance sheet with a business owner's perspective in mind I wouldn't say they have $55B of net cash And I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your content. I always find it extremely informative!

I wish someone would've asked management why they didn't repurchase more shares in Q4. Were they thinking the'd be able to repurchase at substantially lower prices (unlikely)? It's unfortunate that shares have run up as much as they have making their buybacks less effective. Hopefully the price will lower again and management will pull the trigger this time.

Its worth recognising that until recently stock buybacks were very heavily regulated by the CCP. While there is more rope today, I guarantee there is more to the buyback decision for Chinese companies than ebitda math.

They kind of did with one of the questions I covered. Still lots of cash and time left with the current buyback authorisation, and Q4 FCF is always much better than other quarters, so it looks like a lower % of FCF to buybacks this qtr even though it’s still a fair bit

Yea, we knew that. 25B in 2 years is not that much considering stock based comp and considering how much cash they have. What's the point of having so much cash?
