🤣Definitely learning a lot from Anand sir. But I wouldn't call myself as anywhere close to economist or inspired from him. I like to keep it simple as common investor. Wouldn't prefer to get into nitty gritty details. I know that would lead me to get lost in the ocean.

Hi Vijay, we understand that recession is a buying opportunity as well. If we want to take advantage of that, how should we keep portion of our investments in such a way that 1. It does not loose value when the stock market crashes so that we can move money from this safe investment to stock market during recession. 2. The alternate investment should also give some minimal amount of interest so that I do not loose value of money and it grows to decent amount as well. 3. I should be able to quickly liquidate as needed. I kept some portion of my money in GOLD EFD thinking it will have high value during market crash but it gives low return rate in long run (in USD). What is your thought on this?
@InvestmentInsightsTamil3 жыл бұрын
Check this out to understand why waiting for a dip is not really a good idea in long term investing: compoundadvisors.com/2021/should-you-invest-new-money-all-at-once-over-time-or-only-after-a-bear-market When market gives opportunity like down by more than 30-35%, then we have to look into options of adding more from other assets. We should not wait for this opportunity, but rather take advantage of the opportunity if it happens. Personally, I am always 100% invested in equity. When I run into recession like opportunity, I get aggressive with my holdings. It works for me. But will not work for someone who cannot handle 35-50% drawdown. For them it is better to have debt fund exposure and can increase the equity exposure when opportunity comes up. I am not a believer of gold. I am not thrilled with its long term prospects.

Can you please explain Bond Yield Curve inversion (2Y vs 10Y) and its significance. Quantitative easing (QE) and how money flows during QE and did QE cut short recession during Covid. How does QE affect stock market. SandP500 historical high PE and relation with interest rate. What will happen when rates rise and QE stops. Will stopping QE trigger recession. Thank you.

@InvestmentInsightsTamil4 жыл бұрын
During recession times, our investment value might go down. But we have to understand that this is just part of business cycle. We just need to make sure that our investments are not on any businesses that cannot survive a recession. For any new investments, invest based on your asset allocation %. I would suggest to buy Nifty 50 Index fund or Next Nifty 50.

Hello Vijay, Thanks for the video, clear and detailed explanation. I have a question regarding investing during recession. During recession should one invest in individual stocks or in Index funds or split between two? What is the better strategy in this case and pro/cons over the other? Thanks!
@InvestmentInsightsTamil2 жыл бұрын
It is same as in normal times. If you believe in an individual business, then you would invest in their stock. If you cannot evaluate a business yourself, then it is better to stick to an Index fund.

There is common thinking that teaching like kids, so that every one can understand. But this is wrong. Because learning and hiding is both side of coins. What our 4 Vedas says is hiding. So the teacher should know how to overcome the hiding process that is Vedas(மறைத்தல்)

Sir, I have a very generic doubt.. what will happen to the mutual fund units and shares we hold or any other physical asset, if there is a bombing or natural disaster or they send us out of our country !? What to do then. .how to safeguard from that financially.. atleast to start a basic life again..
@InvestmentInsightsTamil3 жыл бұрын
We will have a bigger problem at hand than worrying about mutual funds.
@mayasweety89543 жыл бұрын
@@InvestmentInsightsTamil don't get angry sir,I understand there will be lot more things to be worried than this .... what to do if those situation comes..I don't want my dad and mom to suffer if I'm not there for them....also I don't know who else is there to guide me other than u who have much more knowledge on this..
@InvestmentInsightsTamil3 жыл бұрын
No No. I am not angry at all. For your concern, you should be actually buying a life insurance for yourself to remove the risk of you not being there for the family. Your MF units will be safer as long as our country continue to exist. The value of it on the other hand depends on many risks including the ones you have listed out. You have to make a decision of whether it is worth to take that risk or not.
