Hello sir, so index is based on market capital right? Not based on profit percentage? Example: reliance has higher market capital so listed in nifty 50, but makes less profit this year, similarly abc company market capital is very less hence won't be listed in index 50, but still made 200% profit this year, so is it better to invest in abc company or still index list is best? Sir but intha concept equity stock la workout aaguma. Suppose if we are holding any stock for 8 to 10 years but there is no potential growth in the current market price since we bought. Example tata elexi was trading less than 400rs from 2011 to 2020. Few investors might have got fedup & and liquidated the stock without seeing any profit. Even suzlon was trading at 6rs since 2012
