I recently saw a video where there was a mention on how the government spent 68 lacs to develop a decomposer to fight the Delhi pollution and literally spent 23 crores on its advertisement. I don't think this is the right approach to run a country where they care about public image rather than true development. I think there should always be a cap on how much to spend on advertisements because our country is not a startup that can afford cash burn at this level.

Tax should be limited. It should not be more than 28%. Even a middle class member could pay tax but, lower than 10%. This increases revenue of the government which, could be used for social welfare and development of the nation

Although i agree broadly with your views, Couple of points need correction. 1. People earning 1-1.5 lacs per month DONT pay 30% taxes. But about 8-12% net direct taxes only due to deductions etc. 2. GDP in Q2 released today came at 5.4% reflecting overall poor performance of companies in Q2 but this should improve in H2. 3. People leaving India and settling abroad does not necessarily result in lower govt taxes as there are plenty of job seekers to fill into these shoes in India. We have under employment and unemployment as well.

This economic slowdown is only a temporary one and the situation will definitely get better after 3-4 quarters. Where will you go then ? Every other developed country is in crisis except australia. Putin, nitinyahu, US has ruined world economic growth for their own agenda. Better to stay in India for now until the global economy recovers if you're looking for a job only, if entrepreneurship is your goal than US is best. You've to think beyond conventional approach! BTW if you're from EE or ECE, placments in IISc(M.Tech) was as good as CSE from what my juniors told me or you can go to Hong Kong or taiwan for masters/phd, even I'll be moving to NTU, taiwan for my phd in AI just waiting to complete 3 years of work experience(by 2026 ). If you're from mechanical, ECE some institutes like IIT B, K amd IIM M, are placing their gradutes into japan. And as always if you're from CSE/IT in top IITs, MS redmond comes every year for placements, this should be your very last hope as selection is too tough here. A lot of MNCs has offshored to vietnam and thailand, if you know someone working their, could ask for reference or can go to those countries with tourist visa, give interviews and move to those countries as their PR policy are very lenient, this is similar to what few of my friends did to move to UAE and Abu dhabi. A few of my batchmates are working in US and they told me situation is very dire here, people are struggling for 6 months upto 2 years after lay offs to find another job. I'd say safest option is still phd, institutes pay you enough and you will only need 10-20 lakhs extra initial cost(rent + advance + journey tickets + visa ), so in the end if you are unplaced before your visa expires, you can apply easily for post docs, most students don't even do these because during their phd research their professors find them the organizations intrested in your research who offers you a post doc job opportunity which will count as work experience but a significant time your life will be spend on research and it takes a toll on your mental health if you're not strong enough.

Its just a combination of 3-4 negstive issues coming at the same time 1. Extreme draught summer and followed by flooding in few parts of the country (which lead to increased food inflation as well) 2. Strong US market and strong US dollar after trump victory 3. Increased impact of Israel war after Iran entered the war leading to increase in crude oil prices and disruption in supply chain 4. Election and post election cycle that lead to lower spending by the government All these are temporary causes and situation will improve in 3-4 quarters

as per my observations GoI is planning for laws to force people to spend...like reducing interest rests on savings, FDs...changing property and vehicle ownership laws, removing tax exemptions. all this will cause india to become a country living on very short term consumption cycles of cheap products & services...since big shot expenditures in low income country require few months to few years of savings to amass capital for big shots. we will soon see a stagnation or slow decline in real estate, automobile, consumer electronics... failing malls & hotels...
