My first automatic watch was an Invicta Grand Diver. It still runs great many years later.

Got the yellow dial, a sound enough watch. QC maybe a bit hit or miss. The bezel on mine is so tight to turn that I just leave it. NH 35 tough as old boots. Got a few better brands but still enjoy wearing this beast of a watch. Great video.

Yeah with many brands QC can be hit or miss and shouldn’t be that way but it is. It’s solid beater for sure. I think it’s the movement that makes it solid. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Its a great watch I have no problem with wearing a 47mm invicta automatic watch.. I am all about dive watches automatics and maybe even a long life battery driven one, I prefer Large watches. I am done with the high dollar watches I just don't see the point, now if the watch has either a satellite or radio self correcting mechanism to it I can appreciate the extra value in that. / I recently bought one just like yours but in blue as a gift and the only thing I regret is not getting a second one for myself because it was even better looking in person and it recently doubled in price
@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri6 ай бұрын
Yep it’s a great entry watch for sure. As what one is willing to pay for a watch, to me that’s a personal decision for the person as it’s their money they made and they can do with it as they please. I don’t have an opinion one way or another. For me time is precious and it’s the one thing I can never get more of, so I see great value in fine time pieces as each time I look at the watch I’m reminded of how I spend my time. But even where I’m at in my life, there are watch’s I would love to own but just can’t afford. But there are some fine pieces I can own, do own and will own. My invicta will always have a seat at the table as it’s one of the watches that started my journey. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I like invicta to me its as good a dive watch as any.. Let me ask you this as I dont use the term what is a starter watch to you? I would use the term starter watch If all I could afford is a watch that I know would only last me say two years, and when that day came well them hopefully I would of saved up more in order to buy a longer lasting watch.. That the way I would look at it So if they are all durable, waterproof, long lasting and keep good time where does the words starter or entry come to play a factor
@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri6 ай бұрын
This watch has lasted me over a decade. That’s the beauty of an automatic. As for starter I think of entry cost into a hobby, so $100 to see if you like wearing a watch, having an automatic movement is where I think of starter. Invicta pro and grand divers are great first time watch buyer options. Thanks for commenting and watching.

Obviously you've never seen an Invicta 1953. Far superior quality to a Grand/Pro Diver. 40mm size, more understated looks. 1953 is thee best Invicta there is.

Great honest video. I like diver watches and Seiko movements and since I'm a big human I prefer bigger watches. The Invicta Grand Diver with its diver helmet logo and engraved case sides caught my eye on a cruise ship and it seemed to be reasonably priced but I didn't pull the trigger because I like doing extensive Internet research first. After I got home I bought two of them, a gold with blue bezel off of Amazon and a Kermit from Invicta for $111 and $99. So far I'm very happy with their sizing, look and function. Will I buy more Invictas, yes and they'll probably be different color ways of the Grand Diver model. I saw the pink Miami Special Edition with its "10" only indices and fell in love as a Miami and Messi fan but unfortunately they sold out immediately.

Glad you liked the video. Are the watches for everyone? No, no watch is for everyone. Glad you like them. I like the grand diver. I’m a cruise right now and there are a lot of invictas for sale. 😂 thanks for watching and commenting.

Interestingly with watches these so called ''entry level'' watches represent the best value for money in watch buying. Unusually, in a hobby as it advances and enthusiasts become 'better educated' in the subject, and subjectively more discerning they seem at the same time to become less capable of clear thinking and start to think $5-15k for essentially the same thing is money well spent! lol I love my Invicta's etc they exist to expose the snobbery and pretentiousness out there in the watch collecting community. Just my opinion and very tongue in cheek, of course. I'm pleased to see how well the Grand Diver fits your 6 1/4'' wrist that's thanks to the 50mm lug to lug size I'll begetting one now as it'll look fine on my 7'' wrist, something I had been wondering! Thanks for the review. 😃

Watch’s are not for every taste that is for sure regardless of the brand. As you move up in the price range you can, see and feel the quality of materials, craftsmanship, movement, complications grow and improve, hence the price. Just like in cars. If it was just about telling time we would wear $10 Casios 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting. Just my opinion but I think snobbery happens at the entry level of the watch collecting as well. Just my two cents.

Great review, watch collecting is defiantly a journey and wear want and what you to spend your money on. Buy Rolex or buy an invicta. Last I checked we only live once, so why not enjoy the best in life. We are not coming back lol.

@marksuchomelsr66986 ай бұрын
Like you, Invicta got me into watches. I own a Grand Diver with a yellow dial. I love this watch and wear it all the time. I have since graduated to higher end watches, Longines, Tissot, and Oris but still include this watch in my weekly rotation. I like the invicta divers , but they do go overboard with their designs. Their pricing structure Bullshit is probably the one thing that turns off most people. I am probably in the minority, but I am not a Rolex fan and I cant justify spending 10K-20K+ on a watch, just so I can say I own a Rolex. I can afford to, I just don't need to.
@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri6 ай бұрын
Totally agree. We have that watch that started it for us and for most of us it was probably not a preferred brand lol. You have some nice watches there for sure. I have a longines and a Oris I’m looking at. As my income and taste has grown so has the watches I want. Taste is very subjective. Would I like a Rolex? Yes. Are there watches I want more at a lower price point and would wear? Yes. Maybe one day I might find a good Kermit on the great market that is priced right 😂. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The new grand divers have that larger filled in part for the lugs where the bands connect to the case. The old one had those wings like clips, but it is now replaced with the full link attachment, so it secures the bands better. I wish i knew what they were called.

Flame fusion = It's nothing more than a mineral crystal fused with a sapphire coating with heat. The mineral core is for shatter resistance, and the sapphire coating for scratch resistance

Rolexs are noght and day but for more than $1000 is bullshit. Its all about demand because they make only make said number at rolex evey year. If they would just start making way more watxhes rolexs would come down to what they are worth $1000. Watxhes that cost $30,000 or something like that are just not worth it.

There are a lot of watches out there over $1k. I own several and they are hands down better than invicta. Invicta is know for saying all there watch’s retail over $1k but mark them down 90%. If invicta is your thing great but they are not the pinnacle of watch’s lol. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@robertphillips12622 ай бұрын
@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri don't think invicta is the pinnacle, just that no watch is worth thousands of dollars. The only reason I wear invicta is that it costs $100. When it becomes inaccurate, I pitch it and ge another. Plus, I am not a person with extra money. Still don't think I would spend my extra money if I had it on an expensive one. Not trying to sound argumentative what one spends his money on is his or her business.
