Napoleonic France vs United Kingdom (Sub Commanders)

One little thing: I was commanding artillery and light infantry, Capitan Cowley - cavalry. Me and my Friend, Gregorius, had some problems coordinating with Capitan Cowley, so exempli gratia, the cavalry charge in the middle was 5 minutes later than it should be. Also, after loosing all of his units (I believe) Capitan Cowley left the game. So one big request to all people playing Totalwar games in multiplayer: DO NOT QUIT! Be honorable! Learn that defeat is a normal thing in any game. Even if you lost all of your units, do not quit! If the battle is ranked, it stops for everyone, when somebody quits. And if you're quitting to save your points when you see the battle is lost, then: Chędożcie się! Thank You all, and thank You for great battle, Oakley! Krupa

+LaggyWolf I actually saw that "Kodename Kids Nextdoor" was hosting a lobby called sub commanders so I immediately joined in. I think anyone can host this kind of game themselves as long as you are sure everyone understands the honor rules

Love the new "Cinematic mode" gives it a cool cinematic feel (obviously) and I love the sub commanders idea in Napoleon!! Feels just right!! I can totally feel the chaos in the gameplay.. Did you ever play Napoleonic Wars for Warband? There was a multiplayer mode called "Commander Battle" where each player had like 30 ai troops under their control in line battle. If there were a lot of people connected there could be some pretty large battles, not nearly as large as TW of course but there was the fun of being on the battlefield yourself fighting alongside your men. Probably nobody playing it anymore though.

That was great, really good stuff. The whole sub commanders/Napoleon total war came together for a really epic staggered battle. Cinematic was great - only clause is the overhead flags in the cinematic. They ruin it a little but then again not sure you could tell who is who elsewise. Keep up the great stuuf.

+THFE Productions I would like to suggest a sub commander battle for Rome II where you re-enact the Battle of Gaugamela between Alexander the Great and Darius III. The army compositions of both the Macedonians and the Persians (who could be portrayed by any of Rome II's Persian influenced factions) lend itself extremely well to sub commanders and would indeed be a thrill to watch.

The Idea is awesome, but can I suggest actually having a commander ordering the other players around the map, chain of command style? You set it up pretty much like you set these games, but an extra player only controls a general unit and shouts orders to the other players real-time via teamspeak or something...

I must say I did enjoyed finishing Napoleon Total War. Great game. Was really awestruck seeing how powerful cannon guns shots are. Also fleet fights was incredible enjoyable. The govermenting, skills, perks, feats, storys and so on was great to study and read. Only later I seen some hate on this game. I was like: What?! That game was awesome!

One thing I never decided if I liked or not with NTW is the fact if cavalry connect with your troops while in a charge they will inflict charge damage into your own men, Which can end up killing both squads

+Diarch you can get around this by giving a movement order on the other side of your troops and then switch to attach once they get through

+General Cody 1080p you can go into the script files and crank the camera movement speed down to something like 10-30 for a nice pan. Then what you can do is reduce the rotation rate. You can do this on the options menu but actually if you start spinning and hit shift+page down or shift+page up, you can adjust that rate manually
