Someone may have mentioned it, but in the comic version of this she is haunted by the thought that in the one moment she had a chance to save her mom and the doctor she was focused on her anger instead.

22:19 In her comics after the scene where her parents died, she says with tears in her eyes: "For one moment I had the power. I could have fixed it. ..I could have brought you back. But I used it for revenge instead. ..I'm sorry mom and dad. ..I love you." Maybe the could have kept those lines, for an even greater impact. Also, as her last standing brother dissolves, he says (in her comics) "...They don't care about us now. ..Now they have you. ..Goodbye, Eve." right before he disintegrates. Maybe they could have kept that line as well. But on the other hand I think she might not be able to bring back people that are completely dead, so it might have not worked anyway.

The final scene that showed Nolans confusion was because he knew what he would have to do if mark did indeed develop powers that is what he was confused about as he grew attached to the earth despite all he said when he left the planet.

This special was great and possibly had the best and most fluid animation in the entire show. I loved exploring Eve's backstory as it is tragic, and it made me appreciate Eve's character even more than I did in Season 1; indeed, she's one of the characters in the show for me. Seeing her come to terms with the unfortunate and horrific truth of her real family and seeing her understand and use what is actually only a fragment of how insanely powerful she indeed was so freaking cool. Btw the late and great Lance Reddick was the one who voiced the government agent Erikson in this special, and sadly, this was one of his many final performances before he passed away. Despite how small of a role it may have been, he still did a great job in giving us a good antagonist with Erikson. RIP Lance Reddick🙏🕊 BTW that final shot of Nolan's facial features showing his conflicted emotions about his mission and what he'll inevitably do to Mark and Debbie were wonderfully animated and really conveyed how, even before Mark got his powers, Nolan wasn't sure if he could go through with his mission as we later see in Season 2 he left details about Viltrumite weakness's just in case he couldn't go through with it. Nolan might be the most interesting and complex character in the show for me, either between him, Mark, Donald or Eve.

this episode makes atom eve supremely confident and wildly creative with her powers from a very young age, but somewhat inconsistent with the eve that we were introduced to in the second episode of season 1, who tells mark: "everyone freezes their first time. i used to throw up before every fight. barf my guts out. like a fire hydrant. you'll get used to it -- the fights, not the barfing."

Eve is literally a god in invincible universe. By far the most powerful entity to ever exist in Invincible universe. Her powers were so scary that a mental block was placed on her mind, same way Professor X in marvel tries to suppress Wanda's and Jean's powers at one point, off course it didn't work. Same way it didn't work very well, because everytime Eve is close to her death, her special form also known as "Second Awakening" triggers, in that form she is so powerful that she destroy and recreate entire universe if not the multiverse.

It is implied that Eve really is "special", and by that i mean on the spectrum. Signs of autism are hinted all throughout the movie; her staring into space, abnormally genius, excelling in one or two fields but struggling with other fields, attending special school with special needs, people calling her weirdo or freak, etc. And the title itself (quite genius tbh). That's why her father don't want to acknowledge her talent, it shames him to even think he has a daughter like that. Her mother, while way less harsh and more accepting, actually dismisses her condition by saying maybe she's just too smart, because she still wishes her to be like any normal kid. And this family setup and child conditioning really do happen irl, sadly.

Eve's dad is a total piece of crap. If I had a child that was a little different I'd want to find out what was going on with them and then try to make life for them the best I can, the same as if they were an everyday normal child. Eve is special and I'd want to make sure she doesn't lose what makes her such a great person. The girl Val wasn't really a friend at all. I'd have thought it was cool to have a friend with powers. We would've had so much fun and I'd help her come up with a codename and be cool with maybe training to become her sidekick or manager. That reveal about how powerful Eve really is looks like she could save Earth from the Viltimites all by herself if she could maintain her full power state for a few hours. When she remade that photo to what her real family would've looked like hit me hard because you saw what her siblings should've looked like. I think she should've also got her own comic as well or maybe a spin-off show. I'd definitely watch it. Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌ out.

Jaby keeps saying he doesn't understand, and cannot relate to Samantha's (Atom Eve's) father. I know families like this. The father is ignorant and miserable. And the mother is obedient and never questions the father. She is loving, and cares about all of the family members (husband and kids). But she never voices an independent opinion unless the father (her husband) gives her permission. This is not a healthy environment for children. Some kids rebel. Some kids resentfully never disobey the father. Apparently Samantha's character understands the way her parents are. But she is strong enough to stand up to him. Although you can see it's frustrating.
