Yeah, it's both of these kid's first relationship. Looking back as an adult it might seem childish, but in the moment it's the most important thing to you. It's an important growing moment your first heart break. Some people can walk away from and become very jaded toward relationships, others can eventually grow past the heartache and learn important lessons that make them more empathic people in the long run. Either way I don't think Amber and Mark's feelings for each other and wishes for their relationship should be treated so dismissively. The whole point of the show is Mark's journey from kid to adult through the lens of the Superhero journey. If he just flat out dumped Amber and got over it easy, he'd truly be a Viltrumite. Him caring so much and wanting to try when others give into the easy way shows how he is different. The way things end with Amber also shows how those same attributes, while we'll intentioned, can also be misguided. It's a tightrope of life.

Season 2 is a setup season. All of the little plot threads that seemed like dead ends were put there for a reason, even some of the ones from S1. Those who have read the comics know what's coming and boy are people NOT ready for it. There are some things that I have no idea how they're going to translate to a show because honestly I don't know if the production company will LET them do it. Also, there are threats out there that make Omni-Man and the rest of the viltrumites look like children by comparison.

I actually think they improved the Mark and Amber break up in the show versus the comic. In the comic its a depressing "girl cheats with Jodie while her man fights the war" story that makes Amber kind of irredeemable. It did not highlight the struggle of a super hero to have a normal human life like this at all.

I get your and people's frustration with season finale not having many resolutions, but honestly it's really not a fault of the show, it's just how comic books are. The thing is comic book pacing is fundamentally different than television. Comics doesn't have huge resolutions middle of the story like TV because they don't have massive 1-2 year breaks in-between chapters. So their adaptations also has to be like that unless they deviate massively from source material like The Boys etc. In reality this is just chapter 25-50 of a 144 chapter story designed without a massive break in mind after chapter 50. That's why there isn't any huge resolutions in episode 8.

SPOILERS!!! This season was kind of slow, but comic readers will know that this season works as a set up for some of the biggest events for next 2 seasons at the very least. Show watchers are not ready for this!!! I will give you a hint for one such event that will change Mark forever. It's the viltrumite Anissa was talking about when she was holding Mark down. She said something like when he comes, he will demonstrate the error of Mark's ways and the whole planet will pay the price. Well, get ready for this dude because it will be lifechanging! 🥵😮‍💨

In the comics, Shrinking Rae did actually die in the fight against the Lizard League, but further down the road there's a bunch of side characters from other Image comics that they probably couldn't get the rights to for the show, so they kept her around to fill in some of those gaps. Also, it is entirely possible to survive an off-center headshot like that (point blank like that actually makes it more likely). Go look up Phineas Gage; he had a metal rod shot through his skull, remained conscious and talked to the doctors who treated him, and survived for several years after the incident. That was in the 1800s, too, so with the technology available in this show, Rex's recovery isn't actually that far-fetched.

Season 3 is why 2 is so small and underwhelming, hence the two parts and cut corners in the animation. I felt like Mark and Amber were DOA from the start. It just felt like a relationship of convenience. "Oh you like me? Ok! I'm interested." And I agree. Eve completely understands Mark's life and can even join in with him. Things would be so much simpler for them as a couple, but as we all know, this is Invincible, so they gotta find ways to make things hard for Mark and everyone else so I bet they'll throw some crazy wrench into the relationship whenever it starts up. Mark just needs to chill right now and get over everything with Amber before jumping into something new. It wouldn't be fair to Eve if he started projecting his emotions from his relationship with Amber.

It's OK, nobody likes Mark and Amber together. A lot of people don't like Amber at all. Though they toned down a lot of the character traits that made her annoying in the first season. I liked this season better than the first. It had more surprises for me than the first season did. As soon as I heard Nolan say the world wasn't "yours to conquer" I figured out what his deal was in the first season.

I believe everyone agreed about Mark and Amber having to break up, especially after Anissa happened. The story brought everyone there step by step, and probably even the most convinced Amber-shippers changed their mind in the end. Personally I never liked how she treated Mark in season 1, even if I liked her as a character (she's way more well-defined and all-round than in the comics, for example). So having her back on him after season 1 finale felt a tad too forced in my opinion. We'll se what's in the future 😁

We all ship Eve and Mark as well. So there. Also, Donald's such a good guy that he's absolutely worth preserving, because he keeps making the sacrifice play for others.
