I love how you explain everything. How does a power ridge work? I just received my refinements 1 of 10 today, and they added a power ridge. Thank you

Wore Invisalign for 5 yrs!! Finally (after telling Dr repeatedly) "Tray on 2 front top teeth ALWAYS loose, full of saliva, spraying and never tracked. At finish. Right front (Originally 2 front straight) now 2 rgt front is angled (too close??) Now front slightly rotated, 2nd back repositioned INWARD. SLIGHT SHADOW. UNEVEN NOW. SO the next tooth back pushed in ..so in my previously best right front top teeth that were great to start are now rocky road crowded (also a crown done that I've repeatedly suggested was too big Now crowding THOSE front and front right teeth. Invisalign Was reccomended For Severe BOTTOM crowding. THE WHOLE TIME WATER POOLED AND SPRAYED??? IM IN VIVERA NOW BUT WORRY THIS IS MAKING NEW TOP RIGHT FRONT CROWDING MORE PERMANENT. WOULD. THX FOR ANY RESPONSE OR SUGGESTIONS. TRYSH A

Thanks Dr B - super interesting and helpful. Here's one for you - I have a lacuna above my left canine that is supposedly for an elastic if needed (none so far) But it pops out a little and irritates my gum sometimes. It's my fourth set and it seems to be on all sets. I'll keep watching in case you address it.

Do you mean a precision cut? Some patients bend it in slightly with their fingers and/or trim it slightly. Of course, always check with your provider first before attempting any of this.

Might be a dumb question, but do the same apply to other clear aligner brands, i.e. Spark aligners?

I have a question. I had Invisalign for nine months and I feel like there’s a few teeth that I need tweaking but the dentist took off my attachments and ordered my retainer. Is it too late to make any changes?

Have you ever heard of having to do a course correction after switching to the 2nd tray? I'm 39 and had braces as a teen but didn't wear my retainer.
@TrayMinder

Do you mean after tray 1 a mid-course correction/refinement is being done? That’s quite unusual.

Hello, Thank you for your informative videos. I always feel rushed at my doctor's office and wish they would answer my general questions. I just got my refined aligners and they don't feel the same compared to my previous aligners. My teeth don't feel like they are tightening and shifting after the first few days. I was wearing my previous aligners for at least a month until I got my new aligners. Is this normal or not?
@TrayMinder
@TrayMinder 2 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear the videos were helpful for you. Yes, usually refinements involve less movement. Also your body is more used to the process so it’s not as big of an adjustment (similar to exercise).

@@TrayMinder Thank you so much. I have a few more questions. I really appreciate your feedback. Are you saying that although I can't feel them moving they actually are moving and working? You probably use the invisalign app to keep track pictures of patients' progress. Is it really helpful? My doctor missed that one of my teeth was not shifting accordingly and i was lucky that I made a visit about something else. I have another question. If I miss a few days of wearing my aligners, would it be ok to add on more days to that session? Or what if I wore them at night just temporarily? THANK YOU again!!

My orthodontist said I likely will have to scan for refinements when I go back in May. Do attachments get removed or added for refinements? How are attachments removed?
@TrayMinder
@TrayMinder 2 жыл бұрын
Some orthodontist will leave the attachments while others will remove them. High speed polish is used.

How do you get rotated teeth back on track? How would you use elastics for this?
@TrayMinder

Usually with bonded buttons and power chain or elastics. Talk to your orthodontist for your specific case.

I waited over 60 days for my refinement trays that I was told could be anywhere between 4-15 trays. However, when I came in they put even more attachments on my teeth without telling me (all the way across all the front teeth top and bottom) and now I have 34 refinement trays after I had finished the original 23 and had to stay on the last one for 60+ days. I’m so upset. Everything is literally in place and my dentist just wants one tooth to be lower to touch the bottom and that’s it. He told me in the future I’m going to need rubber bands now all of a sudden. FYI my teeth weren’t bad to begin with and the teeth that were the actual problem are already fixed. My new attachments make it 100000 times harder to take off now and I’m always in pain and afraid I’m going to really pry my teeth out this time around. When they are in I don’t feel any pressure on the already perfectly placed teeth accept for when I’m taking them out and off of the tons of attachments I now have. I read horror stories online that this happened to others too and they started with 20 trays and 45 refinement trays. It’s totally ridiculous because I was told that I would be done in less than a year and then I had to wait 60+ days to even start this ridiculous amount of refinements. Now I have no idea when I’ll be done. :(

omg! that's my worse nightmare. Same thing is happening to me. I have 51 trays and had to get a refinement on my 7th tray. The doctor missed my tooth shifting in the wrong direction. I was really lucky that I made a visit (for something else I thought was off haha). Im not really sure how helpful the invisalign app really is. I'm sorry for venting, but I hope your treatment turns out right!!

This is happening to me RIGHT NOW! I finished 28 trays and today I went in to get my refinement trays. Was told it’s only going to be a “few trays” and now I have 15 trays plus i need to wear a band. I’m so upset. No one told me any of this beforehand. After wearing them for a whole year, I have to wear them for over 7 more months. I’m so so mad:(

@@molikael3654 Thank you so much! I hope everything turns out well for you too! I’m currently dealing with rubber bands now and on one side my dentist can’t even get them on himself so idk how he expects me to. I’m probably going to have to bug him to get longer attachments for them to fit 🙃🙃🙃

@@alexisgomez730 Yeah it’s totally crazy! They acted like it would be quick but for most people that’s not how it is. Idk if it is our dentists who actually don’t know how long it’s gonna take in the beginning or if it’s Invisalign who knows and just keeps that information from our dentists that we will need a bunch more trays :/
