I am not overly concerned about the visibility of my hearing devices as much as i am about the ability of the devices to allow me to hear my best. If tripling the size of my RIC devices tripled my performance, i would be the first in line at Dr. Frink’s office for an upgrade. That said, i would be first in line if i could get neon and silver floral casings. Wearing a visible hearing device to me sends a message that i may not hear as well as others and i actively want to be a part of the conversation. The ability to use effective technology needs to be less stigmatized and being able to utilize the best suited device is key.

I never want to hide my hearing loss. If people don’t know that I’m hearing impaired, then….they don’t know how best to communicate with me!

I used Lyric for 3 years and forced to stop. My ear hole stretched, increased 2 sizes over that period. I suffered discomfort & extreme itchiness, especially after showering. You can’t clean inside your ears, it’s annoying. After a year or so, some mild bleeding periodically and the scabs took ages to heal. I had to go back repeatedly for adjustments. The audiologist got upset and finally forced me to stop using them. They had so many advantages, I persisted with the discomfort throughout. I’m curious if these are better, also if they’d cover my range of hearing loss. I have profound hearing loss. The lyric 5 years ago didn’t cover my full range of hearing loss, but I insisted on using them.

The biggest issue with Lyric is the cost, which is typically around $3,500 a pair PER YEAR. By contrast, traditional hearing aids generally last 5-10 years and cost between $1,800 a pair to $8,000 a pair, reducing their per-year cost to as low as $180. This means that Lyric, which has far less features than even the least expensive entry-level aids (i.e. no Bluetooth connectivity, no directional microphones, very little programming capabilities, and they aren't even digital!) costs as much as 20 times that of traditional aids. And go with two years worth of Lyric subscriptions and you'll have paid the entire price of premium products -- $7,000! That's a hefty price to pay for vanity's sake.

Could you touch on the subjects of ear wax / ear cleaning and charging the device?
@krellman76 ай бұрын
These are not rechargeable. Once the battery is depleted you throw the pair away and insert a new pair. The lyric hearing aid is essentially a subscription program.

Is this hearing aid will prepared according to our audiogram..?
@edgarv996 ай бұрын
Looking for a little down-the-road clarity. I'm reading that once the batteries die, you throw away your dead set and insert a new set. I also understand that these are sold as a subscription, yes? The purchase comes with two, yes? And these will get you through the first year, yes? The subscription price is somewhere around $2,000 each. So, am I understanding correctly then, that a subscription for a pair will run $4,000 per year? Year after year?

Does this work on severe hearing loss?
@richa.s99126 ай бұрын
I tried to get a invisible hearing Aides From different brand since I was born 3 months too early and a premature baby in 1964 been wearing my hearing Aides age 4 years old in 1968 and I have 75 % hearing loss in both ears and wearing over-the-ears hearing Aides free of charge donated by public Schools of the Deaf Center and regular public schools kindergarten through highschool and college until I turned 21 and graduated from my public highschool 18 years old and I paid for my own hearing Aides at odd job in during summer time before I went to public highschool and I wanted to buy invisible hearing Aides but I have too much hearing loss even if I was at 50 % hearing loss and those smallest in-the-ear-canal and in-the- ears-full-custom made ears molds are still not powerful enough to hear better than the original over-the-ears hearing Aides . So the bigger the hearing Aides is better than smallest in-the-ear-canal hearing Aides. And I'm totally happy with Dr.Cliff reviews and videos of 2020 Phonak Paradise Life Aud`eo waterproof and sweat proof digital Bluetooth added Automatic Sensors Surround sound 360 degrees hearing Aides are rechargeable battery and has a 16 hours regular listening and 8 to 12 hours of Bluetooth speaker automatic Sensors Hook up to my cellphone computer and I bought a new Phonak Audio Roger-On Bluetooth TV audio hookup comes on automatically and my Bluetooth radio in my truck and car automatically connected on as soon I get in my truck and I don't have any bothered my friends are family members at my living room and truck without turning up and t.v. speaker up and without turning up my truck radio and CD disc Player. And don't have to looking at my cellphone to see who is talking to me while driving truck and not looking at the radio. I can run and walking in snow storm and thunder storms and getting wet and sweating in heat outside and hiking and boating and camping and can recharge my hearing Aides at Phonak Rechargeable Base without any electric power and can last 3 nights charging both hearing aides and can be charged at home electric power and solar power panels and has. USB ports to hook up to rechargeable battery Swiss Base can also charge 4 USB ports different types and using my truck USB ports and while charging my cellphone and my Hearing aides Base charger at the same time at night and day for months no electricity power needed. I saved a bunch of hearing aides disposable batteries for my original Phonak Milo Plus size 13 button cell are still hard to buy and hard to find but I'm using old hearing aides as backup to recharge my Phonak Paradise Life hearing Aides while sleeping at night or not for 3 hours full charge. Yes I tried to get my 8 hours sleep 😴 at night or day if I'm out fishing at night on lake and river camping.

Dr. Cliff, how does this phonak lyric hearing aid do with moderately severe hearing loss? I read that it still tackles it, but I would like to know your opinion. Thank you.

Doctor Cliff, I am an Italian guy who was found eligible for Lyric, but the subscription cost of €300 per month discouraged me. About 8 years ago, I made the request for Lyric. As far as you know, with the new approach where maintenance is no longer required and users can change it autonomously, has the price decreased?” 12

Tried Lyric when first introduced on the market. Caused massive ear infection due to lack of air, moisture buildup.Great idea unfortunately didn’t work for me. Currently using Phonak Lumity
@clambake37716 ай бұрын
Same with me, 3 years then forced to stop by audiologist. The last year, repeated infection and bleeding. They were just too itchy and the bleeding caused scabs, the scabs wouldn’t heal and I was going in almost every week that 3rd year. My visits were supposed to be every 4-6 weeks, or whenever the batteries died. These new ones might be better, if we can take them out periodically to clean our ears and let them get some air, dry out a bit.

I'm disappointed by the title of the video. It implies ALL invisible hearing aids will be getting some universal improvement. Instead, this amounts to one product becoming mild-moderately easier to use.

A necessary evil to get views/subscriptions to make the channel sustainable in the long-run.

What @030crash says is true. If I had bland thumbnails, nobody would watch, and none of my videos would exist. Its a necessary evil. If viewers would change their viewing habits, I could go to basic thumbnails.
