Alcohol changes my tinnitus

I have severe hearing loss, according to the test. I just received these on Christmas, yesterday, and took the hearing test. Getting the test to finally work took hours. It was arduous for me, but I kept trying and finally succeeded. I just wanted to say to others of you who also have severe hearing loss (one over 70 DB, the other over 80) I still could hear better immediately. I'm wearing them now as hearing aids, but have a lot to learn to be comfortable with the controls. I've tried 2 of those otc hearing assist units. I spent a great deal of time with them. Neither worked for me. It was horribly discouraging and, tenacious as I've always been, I gave up. This is the first gift I can remember ever receiving that made me cry for joy. Literally! At over 70 yo, that should be an indication as to how monumental this can be for us!

Back at this on my own. Used to have my right ear flushed at the Urgent Care clinic in MA where I lived about every 4 years. Been in Florida 3 years and had to go last week for a flush. They will NOT use warm water here. Can't due to risk of burns, I was told...should have walked out then but let them try with room temp water. Made me very dizzy and didn't get much out. Been using Debrox and very warm water on my own the past 4 days and hoping I get the rest out. Sill can't really hear. Will NEVER get this done again in Florida.

I definitely believe this. I wondered if my diet makes my tinnitus worse. Some days it is horrible. I love sugar but I am not diabetic.

I work for the DOD (job is ATC) and I did this as part of my job(score 5.5). Kind of frustrating that they never explained to me what the test was and what my score meant and now I am learning about it 6 month later through you guys. Thank you all for everything you do.

Background noise drives me crazy.: to the point of removing my hearing aids. Some voices are so loud I want to scream. Noises from far away such as silverware clanging or dishes rattling make me want to jump out of my pants. NIGHTMARE!!

I have a one-sided severe hearing loss, and I wonder what serious medical condition that indicates? My ENT couldn't tell me why I suddenly lost my hearing in one ear so what is it I'm supposed to be worried about? (MRI ruled out tumors, strokes or aneurysms.). I just got the Air Pods Pro 2 and of course it says it doesn't work for severe hearing loss - mine is about 66 db avg in the bad ear - so not sure whether these will be helpful in any way or not.

A day at the drag strip, no hearing aid Using Lawn mower, chain saw, circle saw or similar high noise tools. Screaming kids Listening to high music, with high "radio quality" I mean with high tones and not so much low tones

It looks to me as though most people are pleased with the results. I however am not. Once I have them up and running, I will occasionally get a little chirp and for a second they sound good. After a second or two they fade down then chirp again and it repeats. Quite annoying. I have two sets of AirPods Pro 2 (one brand new) and they both do this. Is anyone else having this issue?
