Looks like Systema uses some Kung Fu soft-style principles for power (punching). :) Does the job I guess in most cases. Yet, why aren't any MMA fights using it? I think (edu guess) that in a "fight situation" a boxing punch would still be the most effective as it uses the entire body. Different mechanics. But for most other applications I'd say Systema is likely more practical than most traditional martial arts. As it is used by the Russian military. So it is proven to be effective in a real situation. Now if the Systema practitioner were fit he (or she) would be that much more effective. Odd. Like Chinese Kung Fu instructors this instructor is chubby. :) Overweight. Would probably gas out quickly. And would need to end the confrontation quickly as possible.
