Quite often the Amish and Mennonite are misunderstood or a mystery to most of us outsiders. Join me in an enlightening conversation as we talk about relationships, the use of technology, what they fear, and how they see the rest of America. A truly eye-opening experience. MORE BELOW ↓

Hello Everyone! I just want to clarify that this is one group of Amish out of many. Their opinions and views on life are theirs and do not represent all Amish people. Most of this group are Beachy Amish and Marcus (the older man) is New-Order Amish. Beachy Amish are the most liberal Amish with the most amount of modernity in their lives. This is why I was able to record this conversation. When we "English" (all people that aren't Amish) say "Amish" we categorize many different types of Amish into one group and this is why this can get so confusing. For example, the Beachy Amish can have cars and electricity in their homes. The Schwartzentruber Amish are the Amish who chose to live away from modernity completely (without cars, phones, etc.) and are quite often the Amish we think of when we think of the Amish. Here is an oversimplified list of different types of Amish I met while in Holmes County, Ohio: -SWARTZENTRUBER AMISH (the most conservative and most removed from the modern world) -DAN AMISH (somewhat removed from everybody else, conservative) -OLD-ORDER AMISH (can't drive vehicles but some of them can ride as passengers, only have steel wheels on their carriages, not rubber. Allow Rumspringer--their youth to explore the world and "try things out"). -NEW-ORDER AMISH (Broke away from the Old Order Amish. Less conservative than Old Order, but more conservative in the sense that they don't promote Rumspringer, they use rubber on their carriage wheels, use more modern sliding doors on their carriages, some have phones. -BEACHY AMISH (The most accepting of the modern world and the closest to the most conservative Mennonites. This is the group in the video) There are many other sects and to confuse things even more each sect has different rules depending on their church. None of the Amish are easy to open up like this on camera and it's only because of Josh that we got in with this beautiful group of people. In the next few weeks, I'll have a video inside a Schwartzentruber's home. They agreed to let me film as long as I didn't show their faces. It was a surreal experience, to say the least. I will also have some videos for you with Old-Order Amish people. I hope you enjoy this series! Like most things in life, there's much more beneath the surface with a lot of complexity mixed in. I hope you find as much joy in discovering the Amish as I have. See you next Sunday!

We didn't even have a landline, much less a TV. Life was good back then. You got caught doing something stupid, sometimes the cops got involved and instead of filing a report the cop would drive you home and have a stern talk to your parents which usually ended in you getting slapped and grounded for an appropriate amount of time. I remember stealing a chewing gum in the local store - the owners called my parents and had them pick me up - that was a bad evening which I didn't repeat. Much better than what we do today - it teaches boundaries and you adhere to them for the rest of your life.

When I was 21 I moved away and started living on my own, and I'm the only kid out of 5 to leave the Mennonites..i believe in Jesus and am a Christian saved by faith but I am no longer Mennonite. After being raised like these people it was quite the culture shock for awhile after I went on my own. I'm now married and have my own kids, but these values and beliefs will always be inside me and I am always trying to teach my family some of the simple things in life.. playing board games, putting down the electronics, turning off the TV, going outside and enjoying nature, so that maybe my kids will have some of these values instilled in them so they can pass them on someday.

Most parents give that up to media, to singers and actors aka false idols (women running around half naked for example and actually thats wanted to destroy families. Families are nr.1 enemy for the "Elites" so thats one of the reason they want women to run around in tight pants, bikinis, short skirts etc. so men lust after them and cheat - broken homes). Media is a "good" or lets say convenient babysitter for most parents ... I don't like the part where they are not allowed to do what they want. Apart from that, their lives aren't much different from the life in the Romanian village I grew up in. We didn't have many possessions, but we had our family, our friends, our own vegetable gardens, our animals, good healthy food, good wine and schnapps, good clean air and water, a full bright view of the Milky Way, and a good night's sleep, basically all things that Westerners pay good money to experience these days. As kids we used to play in the woods, go fishing in the creek, and play football all day long on Sundays. During summer break, we used to have breakfast, get on our bikes and come home in the evening, hungry, all dusty or muddy, with a few scrapes and big smiles on our faces. Our parents didn't know where we were the whole day, and they didn't stress about it. Nowadays everyone is chasing after bigger houses, more expensive cars and the latest iphones, so they get in debt, then work their whole life in polluted cities, in stressful environments to pay those debts. It's funny how nowadays so many people know more about some dumbass celebrities than they do about their relatives and friends.

@@junkers5069 Jesus and his disciples set out for the villages of Caesarea Philippi. Along the way he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others one of the prophets.” And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said to him in reply, “You are the Christ.” Then he warned them not to tell anyone about him. He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. At this he turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” I don't mean to be rude, but I just arrived home from Mass to continue watching this video, and I am struck by your comment in a very intriguing way. People that work toward getting closer to God understand that not everyone is at the same place on their journey. Some journeys take some down odd bent paths that intersect the mapped path never again and sometimes over and over again. Personally I have been inside the life of faith, outside the life of faith, and back again. I know that I can be mistaken. So who am I to judge someone else that is truly also seeking the Lord, even if they are unaware? We think as human beings do, not as God does.

Their way of life has captured my interest deeply. Being a Muslim, I've observed numerous similarities, such as their dress, women covering their heads, men saving mustaches and only keeping the beard, modest attire, strong family values, culinary traditions, and even their approach to insurance policies. If my schedule permits, I'm seriously contemplating a visit to their communities in December.

I love that this community can just walk up to one another and make real conversations and connect with one another; no awkward encounters because it’s just the norm.

The Germ Theory was never actually proven to be 100% accurate, yet the trillion dollar medical industry is entirely based on that theory. What's the CAUSE of death in people with this "virus"? Does their brain explode? Does their heart stop beating? The CAUSE of death is still pneumonia. Pneumonia is not something you can "catch". You DEVELOP it, just like you develop cancer. It's a biological result of being "scared to death" of something. Think of it like an internal wound that you can't see, but when it starts to heal (when the traumatic event dissipates), the healing of the wounds in the lungs will cause pain, mucus, blood, fever, headaches, coughing, etc. The cause of death from Small Pox wasn't acne-like cysts. That's not enough to kill anyone. The cause of death was PNEUMONIA. A specific death fright soldiers and Indians felt due to them attacking each other during this traumatic period in time. These were the only people who had Small Pox. A vaccine only stopped the acne cysts from forming, which is basically a histamine response. Pneumonia still develops and cannot be stopped or vaccinated against. It's like trying to vaccinate your body to prevent it from healing a bruise or a cut. You don't show the symptoms of "disease" until you stop being panicked and afraid. These symptoms usually show up 1-2 weeks after you've relaxed and resolved the upsetting event. Governments around the world are CAUSING fear frights, thus CAUSING all the illnesses, aka Boogey Virus, in everyone based on an unproven THEORY by one man, Louis Pasteur, who redacted his claim of the germ theory on his death bed, yet no one listened. The US is following an outdated theory that's 100 years old and has not questioned or retested that "science" since then. They believed In witches and curses back then!! Could it be because a Ca-Zillion dollar medical industry profits on following an outdated "science" model?! They've been using the same cancer "treatment" for 80 YEARS. They can't think of something besides POISON in all this time?!?! So of course, when everyone is allowed to escape the hostage situation the governments have put their people into, and they start relaxing about the "scary virus" that's not in any way transmissible, they will begin their healing phase (get sick), and believe they then have the "scary virus", and more panic will ensue as well as martial law. The longer people allow this government to hold them hostage in their homes, the more severe the "sickness" will be. Western Medicine is pure fraud, and people's lives are destroyed because of it.

My mom traveled through Ohio and her route happened to take her through Amish country and she found this little store. Wanting to be respectful, she asked if she could go in and shop. The man at the door said “no, we don’t allow outsiders to shop in our shops.” So my mom said “what if I go in and look around without buying anything?” The man told her he would asked the shopkeeper if that was ok and a few minutes later came out and said “you can go in, but don’t touch anything” So my mom went in and looked around. She saw these muffins they were selling. They looked amazing and complimented them. A few minutes later she walked out to leave. The man that met her outside before came out with her and whispered “people who come by twice aren’t outsiders. Come back later and you can buy the muffins you saw.” So she went back by there an hour later and was able to buy the muffins. She said they were the best muffins she had ever eaten and became interested in the culture after talking to the people in the shop. So now that she’s told me that story I started watching these Amish videos and doing research to understand the community that my mom had witnessed. She’s right, they seem to be nice people who take their rules seriously, in a good way.
