calamity and burn spells add a lot more decision-making to the mix, makes it feel more adaptable as with the right draws you can be quite aggressive, but you can also clutch down and control/bleed people out. maybe it's because i love the itch that red/blue scratches (and i've had so much fun with calamity burn to begin with), but this is the first mill deck i've seen in a long time that i've liked!

@Icameron2592 жыл бұрын
Mill is similar to burn in that you just have to cast a critical mass of the same type of effect and you win. But it just *feels* really bad when you see your good cards get thrown into the GY/exile instead of being able to play them :(
@RandomPerson-mv8bn2 жыл бұрын
@@Icameron259 very true. There's also nothing you can actively do to stop it. I respect burn players especially in a meta where every deck has some sort of life gain, but with mill, you simply play your cards and hope that your library lives to tell the tale of the encounter

I have now run into something similar on ladder. I don't know if I love you or hate you for this. But I would suggest considering Galvanic Iteration. It can copy calamity, or you can just galvanic-tashas and then do it again with invoke.
@LegenVD2 жыл бұрын
To copy Calamity we would need a lot of mana so it doesn’t seem too reliable.
@sobrique88832 жыл бұрын
@@LegenVD It's not, you're right. 7 mana is quite a bit, and games will often be over beforehand. But it does give you a bit more flexibility over which of your mill you draw, or just getting more use out of spot removal when you need it.

@@jerodast What's funny about Kaladesh. I was referencing "Tasha's Hideous Laughter" (the iconic D&D spell) from "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms." FR being set in Faerun and it's city of waterdeep even being named on a card in the set. YMMV. Admittedly "Trostani Discordant" was a reach for cacophony, but cacophony is discordant.

The problem with crab is that practically everyone runs creature removal, and the lack of other creature threats in your deck makes crab the only target. You might switch that out just to make their board wipes/kill spells dead draws.
@LegenVD2 жыл бұрын
While it doesn't always line up great, it remains a must answer threat for just one mana. That mean the opponent might have to throw off their curve to answer it etc. If their deck is only removal then it's a different story.

*I went 8 wins - 42 loses with this deck* ... due to Mana Drought (mostly) and Flooding ontop of Screwing (getting only either blue or red cards). I generally faced Graveyard Decks and Discard decks mostly, followed by Elf and Angel Decks. Added 8 Graveyard removal cards for a total of 66 cards, *played another 50 games. 5 wins - 55 loses.* Did not encountered as much graveyard decks (15 times) won 2 of those times. I tend to draw pairs of graveyard removal cards or more against NON-Graveyard decks ... but Draw NO (one if i was lucky) Graveyard Removal Card against a grave yard deck. And the Discard Decks I faced, generally within 4 to 5 draws the opponent would already used a combination of 2/1 thought siezed or 2/1inquisitor cards sometimes coming up with 3 of either one of those cards by thier 4th or 5th draw. Opponent tends to draw pairs of doubles. Here's one of my hands, 3 Thundering Rebukes, duel cast, 2 laughters, 1 island (mulligan I get something similar) oh I rarely get or draw Calamity, and when I do draw Calamity I will draw 2 if not 3 with in 5 or 6 turns but can't cast it cuz I have No Mana in a 25 land deck or I'm flooded but with no spells in the grave yard to use Calamity on. *(Yup the Game is Totally NOT Rigged)*
