Super Poly doesn't work on Crooked because the "fusion summon a monster using materials from either sides of the field" it's an effect of Super Poly, which means that if your monster is immune to card effects then Super Poly cannot use it as a material for a fusion summon.

Little tidbit of info for anyone looking to run this deck: If you use Astral Kuriboh as XYZ material then you can place cards while Cook is on the field due to Astral Kuriboh's effect. Just recently started running this deck so I can AFK and skip turns while doing other things.

I play a version of this deck with witch and sangan so if the opponent doesn’t have more than one negate on board i can summon them and either crash into something bigger or chain cook’s quick effect to get a free search of an exodia piece. Risky but fun

Tip: I use 3 Metalfoes Fusion in this deck because: 1. It's a draw spell that doesn't commit itself to the board, which means it keeps Cook out of trouble. 2. It shuffles itself back into the deck, which means I can keep getting the potential draw 1 on the next turn. It also helps in case you know an Exodia piece or Final Countdown is near the bottom of the deck after using Pot of Prosperity (which I don't run).

This is how I finally got to plat without playing a meta deck. It's always funny seeing the opponent have so many cards while you just have 1 sitting there. Mine had a few modifications to it but it worked for the most part none-the-less. Also yes it's great seeing Called By the Grave because I had a duel where they used it on Main Phase 2 and seeing it didn't work they eventually used another one but on my Buzzsaw Shark.

I reccomend using Golden Ladybug instead of Swift Scarecrow. Since Crooked Cook duels tend to last a lot of turns if the game goes as planned, the cumulative LP gain from multiple Golden Ladybugs has the potential to offset the LP loss from more than the three battles a playset of Scarecrow would stop. It's also useful against piercing, unlike Scarecrow.

I started main decking kaiju years ago so I've been prepared for this type of thing. Now we have underworld goddess. So no bricks.Most decks can summon four monsters to out it. Triple burst dragon is also good. Just pierce it, and win in time. Skill drain before the summon of cook... negate the shark they use to summon right hand(ash, veiler, imperm, etc.). The problem for most is they didnt know what was coming, Now everyone is prepared for it.

I beat a deck like this by milling both our decks and sending their exodia cards into the graveyard. Then i kept reshuffling cards into my deck so they ended up running out of cards eventually. I didn't even know i could do that.

Because link monsters are not very smart. They simply do not know how to go to defense. All they ever think about is offense. If you add book of moon into the equation, it simply does not work, why? Because link monsters simply does not know how to go into defense mode, whether that be face up or face down. But this only applies to link monsters. Book of moon isnt exactly bad, its still good, just bad against link monsters.

Hey idk if you know this but “DRAW OF FATE” is a good card In this deck. Replace it with your pots. You pretty much get a free exodia win in 15 turns if they don’t have an out . And sure beats passing turn for 50+ turns.

I think the lack of conditions on PoP makes it the better choice. Unless you restructure the deck with a guaranteed method of lowering your lp. DoF is better than pot if you can meet that condition though.

I got around Crooked Cook twice (which is every time I've ever faced it). Once was with Chaos MAX piercing doing 7600 damage in one attack and the duel was basically over from there. But the other instance was much funnier. I had one card set and my opponent used MST to pop it. The set card? Successor Soul. And because MST was technically on the field when I chained it, I was able to send Cook to the GY for a Blue-Eyes. Dude must've been pulling his hair out with that development. Speaking of Cook. Guess what I pull from the XYZ event packs? Not one, not two, not three, but *FIVE* Ultra Rares!!! Two of them in the same pack, all five lining up to give me 3 of each (I had pulled the Genesis previously from a Legacy Pack) *_AND_* I got a foil finish Keeper of Armageddon and a *ROYAL FINISH GENESIS!* The number of SR XYZs by the end? ... Zero. Not even kidding. No Cook, no Archfiend, not even the Photon Bounzer. I got 4-5 Mind Crushes, A Grenosaurus, and that dragon card I think. No other XYZs. Speaking of those damn Mind Crushes, I wish the game wouldn't give you more than 3 of a given card when it can't be dismantled, that's some bullshit. I get the logic behind not letting people dismantle the Legacy and Award cards, they're free resources that could be put into things people would otherwise spend money for. But if they already can't be used as a resource... and you're not charging for them... WHY LET PLAYERS GET MORE THAN 3 OF THE SAME CARD?!?!? At *_LEAST_* make it so that you're guaranteed a foil/royal finish instead!!! Just keep the system the way it is, but once a given player has maxed out on a given Legacy Pack/Duel Reward card list, change the reward on the results screen to 2 Gems. It's suitably low to make it more likely that people will spend money on gems, but not literally worthless like getting more packs for cards you have no use for.
