Oops, I don't like to be the guy who criticizes, but I need to tell you something. You installed the tongue and groove siding upside down. Every single time you install exterior finishes, siding, wood, window sills, anything, think about how the water will run off. You always want to the water to run off and down or out of the exterior envelope. Water is #1 problem with wood rotting and deterioration of exterior finishes. Sun is #2, unless you live in the desert, in which case sun may be #1, water #2

Would it function better if installed vertically?
@johnmcmullen2932
@johnmcmullen2932 12 күн бұрын
@@danbev8542 I used to buld beach houses so water sheding water was our main objective for exterior siding and finishes. Verticle siding always leaked over time. the best siding is lap siding, but it can be boring. a Cool solution is to use live edge lap siding. At any point you can decided to go over the togue and groove you have in place with a vapor barrier and install siding. the extra thickness will also provide more insulation. Not much but it helps. At the end of the day, its your home. Do whatever pleases you and enjoy the wilderness. Best of luck to you

Similar to one of the Bushradical cabins... but better made with no power tools, more craftsmanship, and no Home Depot. Nicely done, friend👍
@katekobylarz3447
@katekobylarz3447 23 күн бұрын
Let's be a little more realistic here. This fellow that you're watching is a pleasurist, that is someone who is copying some similar features which can be found in bushratical projects. Or those that are created by. The wife of the Bush radicall gentlemen, gentlemen period dad, with Busch radical. You have individuals who are husband and wife have a family have built. Community have used it as a platform to instruct people and how to begin thinking about constructing projects out in remote areas. Also how to begin thinking about purchasing property? The features that they need that you personally might need to in order to construct a project. That is, land how one acquires land what properties to look at what qualities to look at in land is there water nearby? Is there the possibility of creating an outhouse or some mass use of the land for other projects other than just for simple housing?. What this fellow has done is just used much of their labor and attention for himself. You only see 1 person sure there might be somebody behind another camera. But you don't see him interacting with individuals. No, I'm just saying that that couple with Busch radical. Has a family has human interest? Has the ability to communicate on many, many different levels? This person is just using something that could be done from a kit, whereas he doesn't offer any humanity, so he's opted. You use color scheme and string of lights. And created something very similar in terms of design that can be done from a kit.That's just paper and pen drawing your simple child and kindergarten can create something very similar in design and call it their own. But let's just be real that 5-year-old child. And this person have so very little to give of creativity, a thought of intelligence and constructive movement towards thinking on a broader scale. They have neither the 5-year-old nor this person who is plagiarizing. Color and design and attempting to create something. Well I can't agree. I cannot agree and I would highly recommend you. Take your comments previously offered here to address things like your issues of home depot or materials because if it was you, you would have to buy your materials someplace. You do not see this person here. Creating anything with his bare hands. You see him just cutting and hammering. And but nowhere, do you see that he is actually creating or offering thought or how to think about these matters all of which is required in being in nature in harmonious relationship with nature.. Sure.I'm gonna catch some flack for talking this way to an unknown public.But the possibility of saving your soul is much more important to me.Then you having something to say about me. This guy has not even given an ounce of credit to Dave and Brooke, and that is regrettable because they did all the leg work and the back, breaking work and the interactions with nature and variety of lifestyles. Where this person is just blah blah blah. Has not offered anything is is really just a cartoon. Sure. I'm going to get flat for this, but I'm telling you. It's one thing to play your eyes. Another person's or couple's projects and call it his own VS offering to humanity is a greater good of how one thinks about living on the land and what resources there are and how to repurpose and utilize abandoned buildings and trees that are felled and how to clean up and how? To just be a human being.. There I guess I've said it all. I don't think I can say anything else but as I continue to watch this further and further, this fellow got away from the reality of living on land and calling it bushcraft, not so this is just a kit and not even I had suggested the ability of kids being created similar to what Brooke and Dave had. Had done for themselves, but the reality ISIS that these are things that have to be tested and tried and manipulated. That's materials, and you learn about wood and water. And how to sustain yourself in your family and life and how to interact with an environment that involves not just piglets, but food and susten. And creating a humanity a community of humanity so that other people can begin to appreciate what it takes to live off the land shaking my head over this one

@danbev8542
@danbev8542 13 күн бұрын
Maybe his favorite colors! Lots of commentators like the black & orange. Similar to ‘Girl in the Woods’ cabin. Blinds aren’t really necessary in the woods with no one around. Besides, he’s a guy - perhaps it didn’t occur to him…😅. Edit: woops- didn’t watch til end - curtains! Maybe he likes to sleep in & doesn’t want the sunlight in the morning. Curtains are cosy at night instead of black, cold glass.
