You can feel safe away from people. In a secret forest dugout. Hunt and fish to eat. But the winters in my area are very cold, and you need to take care of the warmth. I turn on the stove and do ventilation.. Enjoy watching, my friend!

Someone is always critical of another person's work. I retired early because someone was always telling me how to do my job, and they certainly knew better, they thought. This man has done first class work with the tools and circumstances he had at hand.

Three things- 1. You need a damper in the flue to control burn rate. 2. You need a perforated metal grate in the bottom of the stove to support airflow and combustion. 3. Get a battery-powered CO detector alarm so you don't kill yourself...

I Agree with You 💯 the damper is a must have. (I have got a woodstove.)

I dont think you have to worry about that with a wood burning stove you have plenty of draft and enough air leaks in that cabin .. plus he has a fresh air vent.

@jamesellsworth9673
@jamesellsworth9673 2 жыл бұрын
They DO NOT always put the stove next to the door. Watch a few more builders and videos. Wherever the stove goes, fresh air inflow and air outflow from the burn chamber play a role. (Unless the builders are amateurs.) Some setups are temporary and are soon changed in later videos. THESE DAYS, even international builders are paying more attention to Carbon Monoxide/toxic gas warning systems. Comes to the worst, the inhabitants are more likely to be dead from toxic gas BEFORE the big fire starts.

I'm amazed at the number of cabin/dugout builders who use insulation which produces fibres. It doesn't matter whether it is a natural substance or not, the fibres still damage the lungs. For example, exposure to cotton, flax or hemp fibres can result in byssinosis. Using any type of roll insulation where it it remains uncovered in situ results in the dust moots can see on camera in this video. Fast forward a couple decades and a fair few of these survivalists will have impaired lung function unless they cover over that insulation.

Maybe it is a question of 'live longer' or 'die sooner.' I grew up in an old-fashioned farm family and my nostrils were clogged with pollen, dust from wheat, oats, grasses, whatever, by the end of every working day in the fields and mows. I have not suffered from the diseases modern medicine might have expected.
