Sometimes I freak out at how quickly life is passing. I can imagine being there (sadly, I was in Sydney at the time and 9-years-old) , but my big sister used to see them at The Hotel Manly etc back before 1984 and I knew and loved them from her record collection. Anyway, all this time-shifting, it dawned on me - could you imagine knowing then, what would happen? That in 38 years, over 100k people would have watched this same concert on new technology.... that Michael wouldn't be here just 13 years after this was recorded? That the difference between the two is 25 years - roughly his age at the time. The numbers seem profound, but are meaningless when I'm sitting here, feeling like I'm there.

Fantastic concert and the sound really did revolve around Jon and Garry in those days. Michael having tears in his eyes when singing Love is what I say. Always listen to this maybe once a month on a saturday with the surround sound on.

INXS was born right in the middle of my college years. 79-84 College music usually is alternative, progressive, and provided myself with music that I wouold have never been exposed to if I hadn't attended a Major University. The Late 70's and early 80's was a time that disco was ending, and ALT.Rock or wave (Romantics,Talking Heads, Squeeze, The The, Talk Talk, Pysch Furs, English Beat, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, B-52's, XTC, The Bangles, The Replacements, and why list them all? There was a band called The Fools Face, which was regional like The Replacmnets that I KNOW THE MUSIC WORLD missed. They were extremely talented, and to this day, its hard for me to understnd why they werent exposed. INXS, I have came back too presently. Thank You "llanie" and YOU TUBE! INXS were hitting the scene 5 Years after ACDC but fairly close to U2 BOY ACDC had released LP's starting in 75 with covering the most reaaranged and covered the song in Blues History! This is a great way to segway right to were I want to go with this comment. ACDC gets started with a blues song which the Stones still play, then ACDC completely went Rock, or maybe Metal. Great what ever you call their music! Awesome Rock Band, awesome titles, fun to watch, and very energetic. Thet however dont even come close to a Rolling Stones Show, The Stones are pure magical live. Why, we all know why! It's this simple, Mick Jagger can take a concernt and grab you by your ears and eyes, and ultimately deliver what most male musically influenced fans want. They want to what is impossible to ever get. The fans know this, it is hard to even process who Jagger really is? What is thinking, he is like some sort of super power that when he shows up, all over the world, he delivers and people just go fuvking crazy! People want that Period, INXS, as im am know afforded the pleasure of reviewing back. They devoloped from this show in 84 with maybe two or three tracks that became INXS. But what they really happened, is that Andrew, and Micheal continued to write, create, while bring in the skill of Jon, Kirk, and Tim, and became World. A Bands Front Man can elevate a show with great sound and instenanious, non rehearsed dialogue, using several forms of art, talent, sound, tone, connection, energy, power, sex, looks, hair, just shear unbelievable how in the fuck can he do this! Michael Hutchence, started here in 1984. Then in 1997 he became "THE ALL TIME BEST EVER FRONT MAN EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ROCK BANDS< I love this BAND!!! WOW THanks!

So many of the greats their best music was in the first 4-5 years. All the Australian greats had a first few amazing records then the slickness and commerciality of mid 80’s on just filtered out what was unique, fiery and special. Actually this shift was the same for almost any pop/rock/metal music where the bands began in the late 70’s.

The band was awesome even then but was just in the process of growing in music and performance yet. The audience barely clapped and some of these indifferent kids didn't know they had brilliance in front of them. Goes to show waiting and saving the best for last is worth it. I'm sure they saw something special about him that drew them towards them. They had no idea. I'd still listen to their old music. It was actually very energetic, yet professional, intriguing and a smooth sound. Michael seemed unsure if he was bringing it but he kept determined and succeeded. That's ambition. Never give up. He taught me a lot just watching his shows throughout his life.

2 of 2 It wasn't until 1984 that INXS actually were even exposed to N America. Following their 3rd Album Shoobah Shabaah that had two song titles which ultimately was the very beginning of INXS's transition from a great club band with European and Australian exposure only. Then they continued to play, work on their identity and remaining passionate with their Music. Then Listen Like Thieves exposed them to the World! Then, with the talent that every member brought to the group, ( Kirk ) and ( Jon) were the most talented instrumentalist They were brothers, they bought into the Band Concept It's widely known that after they became World. Hutch would only allow photos which included the entire band.. INXS here in 1984, then were they ended in Europe in 1997 is after just writing their Album with Hutch, clearly is one of the finest examples how a band continued to just morph into INXS So original and with a frontman and all his band getting to the very Top. That arrived earlier than 1997 They just just really wanted to use their success, to get them to another place. They did it! I Wonder. I really do. What would be their place in Music. If Michael would be able to continue to act on the world stage, continuing to allow all his band and their music, and remain with his audience, after all they were his world. That world was very small And Michael loved that small world when he was ALL WORLD'
