it is A western/latin rite that was allowed to remain after the council of Trent.. it's practiced around the diocese of Milan and a few churches in that area. It is so named after Ambrose.. one time a bishop of the diocese of Milan

It’s a Latin rite, but not the Roman rite. This is te Ambrosian rite (Now you finally got an answer after 11 years😅)

@@gunshotlagoon922 Pope St. Pius V is the one that made the Roman rite the norm for all western/latin churches. Before that you had the Celtic rite, Ambrosian rite, Lyonaisse rite, Nordic, Gallican rite, Roman rite, etc. etc.
