Me looking for flannel refashion ideas on you tube, almost giving up then.....THIS!!! When I heard, "my style is boho farm" I was smitten!!! I'm a Missouri farm girl that moved to Cali 25 years ago. Hubs gave me a nice flannel shirt but it's too "heavy" and masculine with trees and deer on it. I have been looking for a way to refashion it to make it more feminine. I fringed the bottom of it but that isn't enough. Now this!!! I'm so inspired and so excited!! This is great!!!! THANK YOU!! Also, what is the music? I love it! It sounds like Michael W Smith from the 80s. ❤

I live in my bleached flannel. I need to do this!! They look fabulous. ❤️👏👏 Thanks I love learning about new/old products!! De colourant, wow. You can be more precise too it looks like. Could you “paint” the de colourant on? Then remove the dye. You are a textile genius. 👏👏😘 This is going to be a series!!! Yes!

Just beautiful! I recently stamped a favorite shirt after splattering permanent ink on it and after I wore it the other day I was thinking I could do some jeans too. The decolorant with stamps stencils just takes that idea to the next level!

Rhonda, Good day I just watched your video on upcycled plaid flannel shirts. I have a question, I am doing a upcycled flannel shirt, and I want to stamp my business name in the inside. Question is after I stamp with the ink do i need to seal it with anything so that the ink doesn't run in wash. Also you use double sided fusable web to hold your applica's to fabric and then sew on machine, I have never sewed on machine does it mess with your needle get sticky and are you able to wash clothes after using the web on fabric. thank you my name is Tricia from Grand Blanc Michigan. Love your videos

Curious which deColorant you used. When I went off of your link I say a mist and paste version. I like the idea of mixing my own in a spray bottle like you did. Thanks these are really cute and we are doing this at our next girls craft day.
@rhondachurchfinfrock3 жыл бұрын
I use the gel/paste. Yes, I add water to spray it.

The decolorant seems like it just washed out? Drats. Not sure what I did wrong but I guess I’ll have to try bleach.
@rhondachurchfinfrock Жыл бұрын
Hi, I had a few fabrics react that way. It has to do with how the dye is made and not every dye can be removed. Sorry you did not have success but maybe try it on a different fabric.

My understanding IOD inks are archival inks therefor are oil-based, solvent inks? Is the final result softer in texture on the fabric than using speedball screen printing inks which also need heat setting? Guessing this won't work with alcohol based inks? Trying to decide what would work best and be most cost effective... IOD inks are expensive :-(
@rhondachurchfinfrockАй бұрын
I have not had luck with IOD inks being permanent on fabric. I was using screenprinting ink...but I am always experimenting. NOW my preference is Jacquard Textile Paint to roll on a stamp with an IOD brayer.

How do you get the bleach effect.. and what type of ink are you using that is permanent and washable? Are you using velvet as your applique fabric? If i've missed some info, somebody please send me a link..
@rhondachurchfinfrock3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Lisa, in the video I explain the process. I am using IOD Ink and cotton jersey fabric.

I used IOD, but for a bolder, more permanent look I used a screen printing ink for fabrics, like Speedball.
