Thank you Geemeff for that link. Fortunately my state (USA) has passed some legislation re the situation. It’s simply appalling that people participate in such senseless acts of violence against nature. Of course, most is all for money and maybe because it makes these people feel justified/self-important in the killing of defenseless animals. IMO they have no souls.

Sadly @Elizabeth Owen currently the criminal justice system does not give sufficient penalty’s for any of the heinous crimes against our wildlife, if they get to court at all. Personally I think they should have their hands chopped off with their own chain saw, as if they were actually convicted tom
@lindalaw96163 жыл бұрын
2. If they were caught on camera and pleaded guilty or found guilty at the earliest time they would get a 1/3 off automatically and most Wildlife crime does not get an actual custodial sentence, it would possibly be suspended, effectively on trust, to not commit another offence, this person or persons are a danger.

Appalling. But I have worried that the popularity of live camera feeds is revealing the exact locations of these nests. I think the early Scottish nests used to have a rota of volunteers guarding them.

Just watched this, Geemeff. The point is that these ctuel monsters have breached the law and they need to be brought to justice and punished. Knowing their reasons for this, however, will help hopefully in the protection of other osprey nest sites. They have destroyed 20% of Welsh osprey sites in Wales and that is a high amount. Thanks for posting this.

@@mikekayanderson408 of course they wouldn't. I'm not saying this about all fishermen but human beings think they own the planet and can run it at their convenience. They are greedy. @@johnrogers7192, fisherfolk? If it wasn't for the fish stocked at Brenig for the fisherfolk to catch the Ospreys wouldn't exist there, I'd be incredibly disappointed if it was a fellow angler. There's more than enough fish in the lake for all.

Sadly, these sort of acts will continue until there is proper deterrent penalties and enforcement of existing laws. They are finally putting in place stronger penalties for people who abuse domestic animals. We now need the same campaign for stronger wildlife laws. Instead of the typical fine and a slap on the wrist.
@lindalaw96163 жыл бұрын
Agree entirely @Silent Spaces, unfortunately there are quite a few obstacles in the way, like wealthy land owners who have power to stop the laws being changed against them, I hope it does, I really do, but they still have to be brought to court.
