Fun fact: Duke Nukem Forever started development in 1997 (a year after Duke Nukem 3D) But in 2010 Gearbox obtained rights to Duke Nukem by lawsuiting 3D Realms And in 2011 Gearbox released Duke Nukem Forever If 3D Realms still had rights to Duke Nukem they would have never released it as they did already for 13 years. There's a rumour that 3D Realms has the 2001 build of Duke Nukem Forever, but they can't release it. Also this is only published by 3D Realms, it's developed by Voidpoint.

That looks very good, even if I cant shake the feeling that this could have been a mod as well, a lot of it reminds me of the AMC TC, still I always welcome more over the top retro FPS games. This looks like something 3D Realms could have made following Duke Nukem, hell, even the GDF logo is looking very similar to the EDF one. This is already very solid, wonder how the finished product will be.

Mod: no, there is some serious code difference here. It's based on (a fork of) the Build engine, eDuke32, again modified and updated I think. Looks pretty damn good. Very creative Build engine use/tricks I noticed.

The graphics are superb and very much upgraded from other build engine games, the environments looks spectacular and practically next gen for this engine, the gameplay is fluid and fast paced, the weapon design is brilliantly unique (especially the shotgun that looks like a grenade launcher) and the animations are well made (except the shotgun needs some work, its barrels don't turn with each shot which would be a nice attention to detail). Yep, this sure is a game that looks worth my time.

OKAY! i absolutely love the fact 3D Realms is still making games and actually going back to TRUE old school. I really like the build engine being literally pushed up yet have its original pixely graphics. It is 2018 and when its done right - it never ages! Also! It shares the same universe as Duke Nukem 3D - how more awesome can it be?

As a male I wanted to see a strong female protagonist different from Tomb Raider in a more shooter game version with this kind of dialogs! It is refreshing for me I was feeling tired about Duke's dialogs: "shake it baby" "you wanna dance"! Now you can have funny female dialogs like "I'm not wife material for you"! xD It is refreshing indeed!

What did you use to record the footage? Recording this or any other opengl based game in OBS has random framerate drops for me in the output for some reason.

This game looks fun as hell. I always like games that look like the original Doom but for some reason they play more modern. Tough to explain other than it is basically a game created 2 decades later. Like I could play this game for hours but playing the original Doom just isn't as fun or interesting to me. Not saying the original Doom is a bad game in any way. It just needs to be modded I guess. Not necessarily in the graphics department but in the game play department. Strafe is a similar game to Ion Maiden that I just recently picked up and it's a solid game. Wish it had checkpoints though.
