Just as a heads up, you need English US in the language settings too with a country setting of US. I had to do this, restart the phone and then I could join the wait list for Apple Intelligence.

I'm for one respect Apple for not immediately releasing this especially if they were not ready I prefer if they take their time perfecting this program so it's not so untrustworthy and unreliable before they release it officially to the public yeah it is a letdown that they announced it as they were releasing the phone to the public this caused a lot of confusion but with patience you will get something that's miraculous currently as it stands right now Apple intelligence is a great threat to Samsung's Gemini the simple fact that it uses Chat GPT natively is remarkable

No Apple Intelligence in Australia doesn't matter if you change language, another major update failure, Apple is only small here as Android is the main player throughout Asia and Oceania and you can see why. Not to mention the 16 Pro Max has a terrible over heating problem...

I am in Australia and it seems we have to wait until December for Apple Intelligence if the phone is set to Australia even if I change language to English (United States). I have a 15 Pro Max so the phone is capable.

I think Apple isn't committing to AI for 15 or earlier is because of the updates coming up in the pipeline. Sure, the 15 or earlier iphones may be able to handle these first AI updates & features. The next required updates may not be safe for them & could possibly "brick" them. My opinion.

Opening NFC to everything is good??? Are you nuts?! I've in situations where my iPhone's NFC capacity will notifying nonstop for connections that I neither requested nor want, such as placing my iPhone on a treadmill to watch a movie while working out. No less than 40 notifications will pop up on the screen per minute. There is no way of stoping it. I HATE NFC on my iPhone. Even though I use Apple Pay all of the time, I would gladly give it up to have more control of my iPhone. Also, anytime a huge bureaucratic government forces nonstop changes upon companies like what the EU has been doing to Apple, it is NOT a good thing in the long run. What happens if a better charging tech emerges than UBS C? In fact, why would a tech company invest in research to find a better technology when they will always need the EU's approval.

The update does not contain any AI features. It makes you sign up, thinking that you will be getting them and you will, but it’s the beta version which I could’ve had if I wanted it. Apple is going to lose a customer of long-standing. This is BS.

Complete con. I bought iPhone 16 Pro because of Apple Intelligence but cannot get it to work. I am in UK and changed everything to US English but still cannot get it. Apparently it wont be fully available in UK until mid 2025. I was as well waiting until next year and buying iPhone 17. Might take phone back for refund as sold under false advertising. The Clean Up feature in Photos is part of Apple Intelligence, thus it isn’t supported on the iPhone 15/15 Plus. Only supports iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and all iPhone 16 series models.

Apple wantedly forcing older users to upgrade. Why RAM matters when SIRI connects to chat Gpt for info, even the 50$ samsung phones has AI. Very simple operations like cleanup, summarizer and chat Gpt connection doesn't require RAM at all. I've been using grammerly for summarizer, chatgpt app, additions clean up apps all works great. Apple cheats the iPhone users with lame reason of RAM requirement for AI which hadn't mentioned anywhere in websites. People would have bought higher RAM if it's mentioned.APPLE cheated it's users a lot now, it's a fake AI
