I’ve only noticed one bug in the latest beta release of iOS 18.1. It appears to be an accessibility bug. When using VoiceOver and trying to move an app from your home screen to within a folder, the app apparently is not moved within the folder, but his instead put in that folder‘s place, changing the configuration of your home screen. Hopefully this will be something Rectified with the release candidate.❤

Sometimes when using Siri to dictate a text message, if you tell your phone to send the message, sometimes it doesn’t seem to want to do it. i’ve had mixed results in trying to replicate this.

I did report the issue mentioned about the Home & Lock Screen being at the very top of battery usage, specially overnight, to Apple. It seems like a constant drain on my 15PM. All notifications are sent to my Apple Watch, no background activity enabled and Hey Siri is turned off. That wasn’t an issue on previous betas.

It’s important to remember that the location shown for an AirTag in the Find My app is the location of the Apple device that detected the AirTag, not the location of the AirTag itself. So if your next-door neighbor, who doesn’t have any Apple devices, steals something that’s been AirTagged, and your iPhone in your house detects it, Find My will show the location of the AirTag as your house. This may well be what happened in the case of your crazy AirTag story. The police had no grounds to search that house, because all they knew is that the location of the device that detected the stolen signs was in that house. That tells them the stolen stuff was nearby, but they don’t know in which house.

I can’t seem to get a response to these hiccups my device is experiencing. When I change my personal information photo in settings, it reverts back to the previous photo after about 2-5 min. Additionally, I can only play about 2 vids max in photos, afterwards I’d have to close the photos app and reopen it to play any additional videos. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Hi Brandon. I’m responding to a question you asked during your latest KZbin video about battery life. Since downloading iOS 18.0.1. My battery life has been less than stellar on my iPhone 15 pro max. Yes, locked screen is #2 of battery usage. Ugh! Hopefully the next release of iOS will resolve this issue. BTW… love your KZbin channel!!! Ron

@@lamar310 Siri 2.0 will be able to send inquiries directly to ChatGPT when it can’t answer or do what you’re asking Siri. Siri will ask for your permission every time before sending the task or question to ChatGPT. Siri 2.0 will be coming later in 2025 though is what I keep hearing. But we will get the new Siri animation first in 18.1 update.

The only thing i love about new ios is music haptics .. hope they dont remove it and improve on it giving us option to turn on or off when needed like now.. rest there are still bugs when using safari in landscape mode in my 15 pm cursor overlaps letter/character and its hard to guess everytime which letter might delete after writing long entries and if theres needed correction,( dont use for work mostly but sometimes) copy pasting sometimes doesnt work, moving back and forth in documents disables all navigation buttons and cant go back to previous unless i force close the app..

It appears that changing your email alias is currently broken when trying to remove an old one or set a new one as a primary. Does anyone else have this issue? I looked on apple developer forums and could not find anything. I get an “error description not available” when trying to do either one. Home and lock screen usually takes up 15 - 30 % of my battery according to last 10 days, its always around top 2. I have dark tinted apps enabled, 0 widgets, aod off so yeah Battery has been okay on 18.0.1, some days it seems like it drains faster than others. Also guys, just a quick question, if you were totalling up how much screen on time / phone usage you have been using on a specific day for example, would you also include the spotify background activity where your phone is either off or on the home screen whilst your listening to music?

The mini should be Apple legit gaming tablet that they use hardcore silicon to power triple A games easily. It should have graphene sandwiching to improve thermals when running intense ray tracing processing and more. Otherwise it’s not worth it now.

Apple has been producing the A17 chip since July of 2023. Only the full chips were used for the 15 Pro series. Which means Apple had millions of binned chips in storage. The A17 isnt produced anymore and the iPad Mini will be refreshed once the stock of A17 Runs out.

Home & Lock Screen is now always at the top 1 usage on this beta, taking around 35% of the battery every day, even if the lock screen or home screen have widgets or not. It used to be 3-10%, with the exact same configuration. The battery doesnt keep its charge in standby overnight as in previous iOS versions. This needs to be adressed, hopefully on the next week's beta.
