*UPDATE:* I'm away this weekend (*17/04/2014 - 21/04/2014*). I mostly edited the second part of this series here on my laptop, but have realised that I have a actually left a vital file at home. I'm trying to get into my server at home through a VPN, but that seems to be down. *The second part of this course may only be up on Monday* - sorry about that as I know I promised it for today.

If possible could you maybe create some sort of sub tutorial section for these series on how we can use Facebook's parse (parse.com) with phonegap? That would be so useful. Great series :)

So I can develop iPhone apps using this framework without Xcode? Do you not need a virtual machine anymore (to program apps in this method)?
@CodersGuide10 жыл бұрын
The issue with iOS here, is that you'll need to pay the $99 annually for the apple developer license, but in order to actually package up your apps you'll need a Mac just so that you can get a signing key. The rest can all be done without xcode. As for emulators, phonegap build simply gives you a qr code so that you can run it for android, or for iOS you can download the file and transfer it over through iTunes.

by private app does that mean when it goes to the store will everyone be able to get it and use it or just certain people?
@Plus-ed3oy10 жыл бұрын
It just means that its not open source and therefore isn't available on GitHub. It doesn't affect what happens when it is published to the App / Play Store.

There's no need to own a mac, you can create you certificate with windows or *nix and build the binary using phobagap "build" website (owned by adobe). But anyway you have to pay the 99$ subscription to apple.

I just did a bit of research, and yes you are correct and it can be done using OpenSSL on Windows. Towards the end of this course, I'll probably be making videos about Android / iOS signing and publishing to the app store. Thanks for the info!

Hey Coder's Guide I'd say you should use Adobe Bracets it's FREE and better than Sublime 3
@CodersGuide10 жыл бұрын
I actually will be using Brackets in these series, I quite like it since the update. I used it in the second video which I'll be uploading tonight, but there's a power cut at the moment so it might be tomorrow.
