In a 1959 Romanian film "The waves of the Danube" one could hear a slow version of this music causing a special feeling of romance. Nice art style. Now the film has been removed.

Love the music. So fitting to the video. Second listening now. 👍
Known in the English-speaking world as "The Anniversary Song", because of words (1946) by Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin ("Oh, how we danced/on the night/we were wed"). Not to be confused - although it _is_ a waltz! - with "The Anniversary Waltz", a 1941 (Dave Franklin/Al Dubin, recorded by Bing Crosby) song. See Wikipedia for details!

Ivanovic is Serbian,, no Romanian.
@Itibitydetsku9 ай бұрын
Ivanovici was Romanian born with Serb origins.
@denisadumitrascu45878 ай бұрын
A simple search should solve the debate, even wikipedia agrees: Ion Ivanovici (Serbian Cyrillic: Јован Ивановић) (alternatively: Jovan Ivanović, Iosif Ivanovici, Josef Ivanovich) (1845 - 28 September [O.S. 16 September] 1902) was a Romanian military band conductor and composer of Banat Serbian origin, best remembered today for his waltz Waves of the Danube.
@Indimenticabil7 ай бұрын
Iosif Ivanovich was ROMANIAN not a Serbian, his name was serbianized, because there was a miserable serbian/slavic practice of trying to destroy the identity of minorities and asimilate them by changing their names. This practice still happens today in the serbian part of Banat.
@goranbras47676 ай бұрын
@@ItibitydetskuWhat does mean ,serbian origin? I am of German origin because my grandfather is German but my grandmother and mother are Serbian. Jovan Ivynović's father and mother were Serbs and he was not born in Romania 😂but in the AU monarchy like Nikola Tesla. So Tesla is also a Croat of Serbian origin?😂
@jobrock10795 ай бұрын
@nticabil He was ethnic Serbian and was born as Jovan. Serbs were once a large part of the population of this part of Romania. And it is Romania which changed the names of the Serbs. Lavinia Milosovici is also ethnic Serb, but Romanians add an 'i' to then end of the Slavic names.
