Really enjoyed the analysis of BF communication from both of you. Good insightful takes, I evaluated him like both of you. Grateful Cory praised Kirk and his communication, looking back over the years his back and forth with press top shelf.

Peacock has The Office, so... I've had it for a long time. It's like 10bucks a month for no ads.

You've paid $10 a month this whole time for a show that was on TV 15 years ago?

As a Badger, I know the pain of a lame offense. So excited to see what Longo can do will all the talent available to him.

I think Wisconsin is the team to beat in The West, assuming they can get all of these moving parts to gel. Their offensive potential is scary.

What bothers me about conversations with coaches is we act like it's such a high level and complex job or that its impossible to understand the complications or difficulties of what they do or are limited by, when it's really not. Iowa is one of the top programs in the country year in and year out; to have a routinely bottom 10% offense, when teams like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Illinois are beginning to lap them offensively with the same and sometimes more limitations is absolutely and unequivocally unacceptable. That should be the end of the discussion right there, Brian has no leg to stand on. If this was the business world and he was getting bottom 10% results would have been living out of a box already. And no, I'm not an OC, I've never been one. But I don't need to be a fucking OC to see that these results and Iowas offense are absolutely atrocious and quite frankly is malpractice on Kirks part keeping him employed. Why can't we just be candid about this; Brian, by the grace of having his father as a coach, kept his job for one more year. Who cares how that makes him feel, he has one job now, and that's to perform. Period. He has no time to snap back at people asking legitimate questions, especially while they're giving him the benefit of the doubt (which he doesn't deserve).

It's time for Iowa to build a statue for Kirk and move on to a new era for Iowa or they're getting left behind in the new 18 team big ten with no divisions.

To me, being unranked implies you're not in top 25

Corey, I was the fan that made the baseball cap comment!! That came off harsher than I intended. I do not wear backwards caps, all the stores in Indiana only sell the ones with the bills pointed forward! That was awesome to get a shout out though from Corey!! I love what Corey does and his show and I love Coach Don Patterson!! Brian comes off real bad at times! I have heard him at clinics and walking out of that I can say myself, and the people I was with had a hard time liking him. I don't like waste downs but I acknowledge its not a bad way to call a game. Personally, I think situations where you know what the D wants to do or can take advantage of defenses is more important. A run team may go into a game taking shots on first down. if a weak safety or corner comes into a game an OC can take a shot. a certain formation or motion that the defense is defending a certain way may entice an OC to take a shot. I just think, and I would be agreeing with Brian here, there is a lot, lot more than down and distance that may determine that. I would not say that not utilizing waste downs is an example of disfunction. Where I really have a problem with what Brian said to Corey is he was very clear that Iowa's offensive philosophy is tied into the larger team philosophy and that involves Iowa prioritizing possession and first downs over scoring. Brian's contract, the thing that literally decides if Brian stays at Iowa, is based on him scoring more points than last year. I disagree with any contract structured that way or for wins, but the fact his contract literally contradicts the philosophy he took great pains to explain, shows how dysfunctional, or how much BS, is in that Iowa staff.

The iowa staff didn't have anything to with writing up that contract im pretty sure, so hows that make them dysfunctional or maybe I missed something.

@@Billbraskiou812 No I agree, that contract is coming from people that do not know football. Why is the OC's contract dependent upon him scoring points and not say TOP or turnovers? Brian was very clear about what the offensive strategy is and that contract does not reflect that strategy. So is there no communication between the athletic department and staff? Why does it look like a core philosophical belief is directly being challenged with the OCs contract? Regardless, it puts Brian in a bad position. Now he needs to score to keep job but may not be doing what he claims is needed to do to play good team football. Brian may just be full of crap or the contract may just be a way for athletic department to look like its holding people accountable by setting low goals. I dont' agree with the contract and I dont really agree with the philosophy Brian was spouting, but I tend to take what at least Kirk says as truthful and I think at best Brians contract shows a lack of communication between staff and athletic department and at worse is a direct rebuke of the offensive philosophy of the staff.

@@watcherofthewest8597 Well, I don't think Brian is too concerned with the contract, it'll work out how it needs to imo. If we stay relatively healthy idt points will be too big of a problem. There's a reason Barta is leaving and I think the contract was his final muff job? I think it was to make it look like they are holding BF accountable, it's just all been dumb imo. The lack of horses due to a few good and bad breaks was the biggest cause to the offensive woes imo.

@@Billbraskiou812 I think your right about most of that. Iowa has a great schedule and a great chance with Cade to win west and a lot of games. I think that's exactly right about contract too, a ridiculous last attempt to show some accountability that was never there. I guess my point was when you add up what the things coming out of department and coaching staff, it's all BS because it doesn't make sense. Trying to reason anything out doesn't make sense and it's sad that they lie to themselves and fans so easily. Not an Iowa problem, it's at high schools and colleges everywhere.

I wonder if Iowa does less QB sneaks on 2nd and 1 and 3rd and 1 this year with the smaller QB? I saw Cade close up, and he is not that big. I think they list him as bigger than he really is.

Also... If you change the term "waste down" to "opportunity down" then I think more people will be receptive to it 🤣

Brian F sounds arrogant way to much especially from a coach whos had one of the worst D-1 offense's. Any other program he would have been reassigned or fired a couple years ago.
