Iowa Hill Road 15 Percent Grade

This is not that far off the I-80. That surprises me. But it's in the Sierras, so that makes sense. Pretty darn steep. Clearly not a road for 18-wheelers so there's no way i would have encountered this. Thanks for the video.

What happens if 2 cars are on the road in opposite directions? I live by there & that road would scare the crap out of me, imagine driving that at night!

I do drive it sometimes at night. The vehicle driving up a grade in California has the right of way to those driving down hill. Most drivers on this road respect that law. When driving either up or down I always use caution, looking ahead when possible for opposing traffic heading my way ( (if I see headlights in the distance I usually pull over and wait it out). Also, keep in mind some good locations where the road may be wider in a spot you just drove past, to back up safely, and create room for another car. Where it gets "interesting" is when i am driving my M998. People that live up there drive pretty good on that section of the road, often it is the tourists that can not resit to haul ass on a windy road that causes problems.

The name of this road is actually "Iowa Hill Road" in Placer County, California. It goes from the town of Colfax to the town called Iowa hill. This road in NOT in Iowa.
