Spencer can you please be our Locked on Big 12 host? You’re way better than Drake.

If Rocco is better than he was last year 0% chance they go 8-4 imo. Offense is absolutely stacked, lost 1 key player on defense and they were the youngest team in the conference. You talk about returning production but don’t mention most of their players were true/redshirt freshman and sophomores. Lastly, a point that nobody ever talks about, Iowa state has the most wins in the big 12 since 2017 among teams in the conference. Second only to OU prior to them leaving, this team isn’t scared of these other big 12 teams

U continue to forget our defense is ranked top 1 or 2 last 5 years. The schedule is brutal, defense will keep us in it.

The question will be is this 2019/2021 ISU, or is it 2020 ISU. ISU had high expectations to contend in 2019, and they lost a bunch of close games, failing to contend. Then, in 2020, when everyone had written them off, they went 8-1 in conference play. Part of me fears that situation repeating, where they were oh so close, but a year away.

Kansas is not a real road game. It’s technically a road game, but it’s really a neutral site game. It’s in Arrowhead Stadium, and ISU fans will travel. There’s a good bet that there will be more ISU fans in KC than KU fans. Still a tough game, but not a road game.

In the Big12, ISU is definitely a contender. There aren't any teams that are clear cut above any other team (at least not in the top 6~8 teams. The B12 as a whole conference, is definitely a bit of a pretender. And I say that as a lifelong ISU fan and alumnus. Losing Texas and OU was a major blow to the conference, no way around it. I think the B12 continues to survive in the long run, but the B1G (well, Mich, OSU, and Penn St.) is honestly the only conference keeping NCAAF from being the SEC and everybody else. It's sad, but true. Conference realignment and NIL money coupled with an impotent NCAA governing body have destroyed a lot of what kept college football conferences on more equal footing.

7-5 last year and now 2nd in the country in returning production only behind Va Tech and just ahead of my other team, the Cornhuskers. In the B12, this team could easily go 10-2 with a win over Iowa. The games I have circled are @WV, @KU, UCF, and then Utah in SLC. If we win three of those we win the conference in the regular SZN and the only game we can’t win is maybe Utah if Rising stays healthy and they exceed their already high expectations. I wouldn’t be surprised with a 7 or 8 win season, but I’ll predict a 10-2 finish with losses to Utah and WVU. Go Clones!

Gotta quit overlooking ISU. Also. 8 win team probably in contention for Big 12 title because there is no huge favorite like Ohio State or Georgia. Instead it’s 8 solid teams that can all beat each other
