Michigan State was 14 for 17 at the Free Throw line in those final 2 minutes. That's 82.4%. They had 0 FG attempts (Except the last heave as time expired). Iowa was 8 of 12 for FG's (6 of 8 for 3 pointers). That's 66.7% (and 75%). Iowa also had 1 steal and 3 offensive rebounds. So Michigan State, offensively, did everything right. Defensively, they couldn't stop Iowa from scoring.

I’m not sure how mich state choked at all in regulation? 7-9 from FT And 1 Turnover that gave iowa 1 extra possession +3 extra points. There’s not many teams that could comeback from 11 down inside a minute knowing the opponent went 7-9 from FT and turned it over once inside last minute. Iowa took this game. Without question.
@joshmiller6421 Жыл бұрын
@@MINNESOTA_PTSD the real choke was by izzo for not fouling iowa when it was down to 3 pt lead, especially considering they were red hot from 3 pt line

Has any NCAA D1 team ever been down by 13 with under 90 seconds left and won? I know they keep a stat for biggest comeback with under a minute left (this tied for 2nd biggest, at 11 points), but I would be curious to know if this was the biggest comeback with under 90 seconds left.
@Rishard101 Жыл бұрын
Texas A&M was down 12 with 44 secs left against Northern Iowa in the 2016 NCCA Tournament and came back and won. I think that trumps this comeback.
@CopperBlue28 Жыл бұрын
@@Rishard101 It depends on how you look at it. UNI completely folded. Iowa scored 23 points while MSU scored 10 in the last 90 seconds, going 10-12 from the FT line in that span. A&M scored 14 in the final 40 seconds, Iowa 15. Both amazing comebacks no doubt, but MSU did everything they needed to do from an offensive standpoint to hang on.
