How many acres do you think you do an hour?
@peteparker73969 күн бұрын
@@iowANFarmercomfortably, depending on width of mower 30 acres an hour. I’ve got 16ft hear and I can easily do 40 acres an hour in alfalfa. Usually takes 3 hours to lay down a 120 acer pivot.
@iowANFarmer9 күн бұрын
@ that’s ripping. Can’t even touch that with 3 mowers. 16’ is a lot of header.
@peteparker73969 күн бұрын
@@iowANFarmer I’m going to guess even with a 12ft? You’d probably come close to 25 acres an hour. It’s unreal what they can do. Plus you’re not tying up 3 tractors and 3 people. But beware when going used and look at everything close. Even the rear axle. Deere make a good one. I just think the NH are better. It’s what NH does best in my opinion.

@@davehughesfarm7983I agree 💯. I’ve been thinking that for the past 15 years since we’ve owned a 7820 & we also own a 7800. Our 7820 is the one of the handiest & most pleasurable tractors we use on our farm; not to mention how extremely stout and capable. I don’t get these guys spending more on a 10 series than a 20, unless they prefer the older boxier look?

Kelly diamond harrow didn't look too bad. 40 acres per hour behind a quadtrac. I rented one during a wet spring to dry out the ground. It worked, I was able to get in and plant sooner, but it made compaction.

what did you think of the seed bed? Was it fall tillage or bean stubble?
@derrickrodvelt65085 күн бұрын
@@iowANFarmer It was decent. We ran it side by side with a Great plains turbo-till. Soybean emergence was better behind the turbo-till. It was a wet spring we were trying to get the ground dried out to plant. Our neighbor bought the Kelley harrow after we rented it.
