For sure! I enjoyed the video! It’s always great to see the auctions and the "new" equipment transported home. But I have to admit, watching you drive onto that trailer with the rotten wood gave me a bit of pain. It seems like it might be causing some more damage to the equipment’s tires-like puncturing them with bolts in multiple spots. I noticed the tire even came off the rim. That expensive tire might have been salvageable, but now the chances are lower. Apologies for the criticism, but I couldn’t hold back this time! Maybe next time, a bit more preparation could help prevent these kind of not so good things. I'm looking forward for the upcoming inspections, repairs and TLCs. Be careful with the oil drains ;)

That's an M920 AM General, 400 Cummins. 16 speed semi automatic air shift transmission. Yes it's all wheel drive. Pulled a D7G out of a tank wash, up the ramp, from a dead stop ( used the water cannon to get the mud out of the tracks) in 7th gear. Tough truck, and a powerhouse for such a small engine. 93-97 had one as my assigned piece of equipment. And that's a 40 ton hydraulic winch.

You still have to shift it like a manual transmission, by using the throttle to match the engine to gear speed.

I can help you out and identify your new Loaders! Both of those are German O&K (Orenstein & Koppel) L25 from the early 90th (probably '91 for '92) They were sold as Kabelco WLK25 in the US. Those aircooled Deutz Engines are absolutely bulletproof. Never leave you hanging. The little Clark Forklift is also pretty nice. Without a doubt it's the M920 for me. They are beasts. 8x6 drive sitting behind 400hp of Cummins... and a 45,000lb hydraulic winch on the back. And the extremely heavy duty 5th wheel. Keep it intact. Don't part it out. The semi-automatic takes a bit of getting used to, but once you've been in it a bit you'll be shifting like butter.

Hey, Matt. Please knock out the job of re-decking your trailer BEFORE the winter weather sets in. Your sawmill is outside work and now really is the time to get that done. Along the way, it also wouldn't hurt to set up some covered workspace for that mill, by the way. Knock out the air leak on the AM General and check that off your list. That shouldn't take too much time. Having the little green forklift sorted out next would also be beneficial. By the way, I was sorry to see the ROPS give way on the unload. As for the wheel loaders, well, it's tough to figure out what your plan for those is. I also want to say that for many of us who were formerly from up north, it is always a treat to see some of the autumn colors in your content. Thanks for that and good luck with your new purchases!

Ok Matt, you asked for our thoughts on what you would be doing with the auction finds. So here they are: - I think you'll keep the all wheel drive semi. It'll get you out of places you didn't think you'd ever go with a semi. And it's unique enough to be a D.C. keeper. If you can figure out how to add AC to the cab, and maybe more comfortable air cushioned suspension seats, it could edge out the Autocar as your main hauling machine! Being an ex Army truck, I hope it has power steering! - I think you'll make the most profit on the excavator, if you can find someone who needs a monster like it. - The two loaders will turn a good profit, but probably not as much as the excavator. Hopefully you can just fix their tires and won't have to replace them. Replacing them would be big $$$. Do they make tubes big enough to fit those rims and tires? - It'll be interesting to see if the skid steer is in good enough shape to be an upgrade for you, or whether you'll be flipping it. - I hope the forklift runs and all functions work without too much repair. You had me really cringing when you liftedthe forklift by the roll cage and one of the uprights was obviously flapping in the breeze (which you probably couldn't see because it was on the far side). I'm glad you eventually decided to lift it from the bottom instead. - I thought for sure the last purchase at the RB auction was going to be that bridge inspection trailer, but you fooled me and got the excavator instead. What did the inspection trailer go for? - Get that low-boy deck fixed soon! Maybe a quick winter project in the shop, with your own lumber milled from trees on the farm. Cheers from Oregon, Philip

Definitely need to redeck your lowboy first. Nothing is going anywhere until you can get that trailer recovered. Otherwise you will just create additional damage when asked to move anything. Then I'd fix that M916 tractor. Your Mack is great, but the M916 is just brutal. Plus fixing a leaking air tube should be fairly easy? If you choose to keep the Hitachi, you're going to need a bigger trailer and that M916 would make an excellent hauler for that load whenever you find work for it.

Not a trucker but seems like if ya sort out all your air lines then you should be good for a bit no? How frequent would your air go out? Could you hook up an extra or bigger compressor, so even with a small leak it would be able to keep up to kind of "fix" that issue?

Would think the box should be on a separate system and reservoir to the brakes? Might be something he can look at doing.
@bradykowaluk82112 күн бұрын
@@user-fb9os7hy2y the transmission has 2 internal air clutches. That’s the only connection to the brakes that they have. When you move the shift lever it opens the clutches (you shift) and then slams them shut (that’s the rapid 4 air bursts you hear). It’s an engineering marvel for 1979-83 ish I believe but it’s not super practical. Cat made the neutral kick out as a safety feature because as I understand it, if the clutches aren’t all the way closed you have about a minute of clutch slip before they are junk and you need a rebuild. The operation manual says to keep Revs above 11 or 1200 rpm’s because some part of the clutch is centrifugal. Anything under that “will result in serious transmission damage”

Matt I can’t wait for the videos checking these machines out. -The hitachi could be sold for scrap and make money or serviced and minor detail and flipped (Matt check the oil I. The final drives. One looks to be leaking). -The Takeuchi should replace the current one you have. Can beat a climate controlled cab. -I might consider scraping the two loaders. The possibility of selling them is bleak even if they were sorted. -The Clark is a fixer but I would flip it. You have the Toyota for inside and the A/C. Outside your covered with the boom lifts. -The CCC I would flip it or convert it to a dump truck and keep it. Lots of future videos here!

I believe the cat automatic is an air clutch and when you pull the shifter over it disengages the clutch and engages when you release the lever into gear.
@brucem20073 күн бұрын
Came here to say that! 😊 One of the many trucks I enjoyed driving in the Army! The timing on the shift is tricky, but awesome when you get it.

I love that M920, almost as much as I like the growl of the K-whopper pulling out of the yard with the Hitachi loaded up! I spit out my coffee when that yard boss asked if you were going down the road with that setup!!! My favorite channel brother. You've come a ways since you were working on stuff in your driveway in town.

I think it would be nice to try and quick flip the loaders, then get your shop crane up and then work on your big iron: the Cat D9, B8, and Hitachi excavator etc

Matt the Intro with the Fall Colors is Top Notch, I think the first we have to do is Floor the haul trailer, the Hitachi track hoe is where the money is, the skid loader is going to have a new Home as Long as No One puts a Stack of Money on the Table! Great Video! You Always Make a Saturday!

Worked on a dead Clark C500-50 like the one you bought and a helpful worker was going to drag it out of the snow bank and into the shop for me, he lifted it with a loader with forks and roller the Clark over and onto a hood and windshield of a nice Chevy van. Opps. I’ll never forget seeing his and the bosses faces! Thanks for bringing back that priceless memory seeing you load yours

If I was Sam from scrappy industries, I wouldn't let you park that truck next to mine. You need to learn how to take care of your equipment and your vehicles man, you look like you're running a junkyard, come on, do better Matt.

The M920 is an awesome truck, i actually saw one on the road here in Texas and it was hauling a Cat D7E down to Houston. I dont know if the driver gave the engine more power but it did its job! As for you matt, i am convinced the heavy haul M920 deserves a 13 speed or 18 speed manual transmission but somehow, im getting that gut feeling those kinds of parts are hard to come by.

13:28 id rather be for putting the autocar cab and tin onto the Oshkosh - oshkosh has all wheel drive and hydraulic winch from the get go as well as beefy enough drive train for the engine

Electric forklifts are the best when you work inside on a nice concrete floor. They were great even 15 years ago when I was driving them as parttime job while studying.

Hitachi fix and flog in next video. Truck keep for the wet. Forklift daily in the shop. Loaders move the none starter, possibly keep the starting one as it is a good machine

For got to add , that clam bucket would have been great yard art to mount your mail box on when you move up to the farm. But then again I'm sure you have something else you could use for that.
@bbrachman3 күн бұрын
Just guessing here. Fix the fork lift so you can use it in the shop. Skidsteer next to sell. Work on the heat for the shop and the house. Then do the loaders. Sell them and do the excavator next spring. Just trying to figure out the best 'through put' you can do. I am still waiting to see how you handle the hot water heat for both the shop and house.

Wow, just yesterday I mentioned on another site that it seemed that you were slacking off on the videos and then you blow us away with this magnificent video. I’m still in shock. I have a liking toward skid steers and would like to see that video. However I agree with others that the sawmill and repairs to the trailer deck comes first. You never know, you might be on your way to pick up some more rusty gold real soon. keep them coming.

I have owned 4 milltary cargo trucks, 2 deuces and 2 M923A2. The last 5 ton I had had been rebuilt by a company for the army and put their plate on the dash, speedo said 100 miles on it. Lots of rebuilds the military or contractor puts in a new or rebuilt zeroed out speedometer/odometer. So my truck was a 1991 M923A2 but I bought it at auction on Ft Carson in 2016.
