And the doubt is Sepsis & GI bleed equally meets the PDX criteria, Iv antibiotics to sepsis, GI bleed is due to gastric ulcer, EGD performed and bleeding controlled. You said here the PDX will be GI bleed because of the surgical intervention. So don't we need to consider the systemic infection first

In this case, EGD with control of bleeding not a extensive Procedure so both of the condition may meeting the PDX criteria and we have to choose pdx depend on focus of care or cirucumstance of admission. For example, patient solely admitted with GI bleeding treated with protonix IV,EGD with control the bleeding,hg level critically low, transfusion done,placed in critical care unit complete focus of care going toward GI bleed.however sepsis found on admit tx with antibiotics not the reason for admit here GI bleed should be sequence primary. And sepsis not always govern primary Dx..

Hi Anna I totally 5.5 years of experience in anesthesia, radiology and Denails.. I got training for IPDRG last month they completed theory part but they not taken 3M link with charts... They told that having some problem with providing 3M link.. so i cant able to proceed further... I attended interview also but without practising charts I can't able to clear it.. can u help me?

bro one doubt.pt admitted to inpatient for copd exacerbation..in progress notes mentioned this exacerbation was due to acute bronchitis. iv steroids, bronchodilator is given. when im leading in 3M bronchitis followed copd acute exacerbation was came..whats ur opinion here what will be pdx copd exacerbation or acute bronchitis ?

Bronchitis -Acute need to code additionally both are distinct and pdx based on circumstances on admision and tx provided here tx only for copd exacerbation so go with copd exacerbation as pdx.
