As someone who upgraded from an iPad 8th gen to the pink 10th gen I am actually thankful it is still compatible with the 1st gen Apple Pencil. I already had one and didn’t have to buy a new one.

This is the most levelheaded review I’ve seen for this iPad. Everyone else goes to complain about the non laminated display and the lack of Apple Pencil 2 support. I personally have the first gen Apple Pencil and would not want to buy another pencil just to have a nicer looking iPad.

I love my iPad 10 I got it because I already owned an Apple Pencil 1st gen and once you pair it you don’t need to worry about doing it again. I’ve gotten used to charging it from the wall.

@@9852323 I'm getting a 10 upgraded from 6th gen and economically better to get a adapter. Given I carry my pencil in a case with a small pouch in it I can keep the adapter in and always have a ixpand USB and pencil tips worked for me for years and see no issue in using it further

I owned the Logitech Combo Touch with the iPad 8th gen. It was a great product despite the keyboard being very loose when off the desk. I can see why Apple would steal that idea of a two-piece keyboard case for their iPads, but the price is too steep for me.

Great video-thank you! I am about to be a student again (getting an all-online Master’s) after last attending school over ten years ago, so I definitely appreciate your perspective as a student. My case is a little different-I have about a one-hour commute each way to work on public transport, and I’m hoping to knock out as much of my online Master’s work during that time. I am looking at getting an iPad, but this new one’s keyboard setup is probably a dealbreaker for me… I do plan on using my device on my lap, and this seems like it would take up way too much lap space (maybe more than I can offer) between the full keyboard and the extra area needed for the kickstand. My older iPad with the keyboard that also can be folded back as a stand takes up probably only 2/3 the space. (If you could do a short demoing using this one on your lap, that would be greatly appreciated!)

You can use your iPhone to charge the pen from what I’ve heard. I don’t own an Apple Pencil and use a third party and have to charge my pen so I don’t see the huge problem that most people are complaining about

I’m still learning how to use my (10)generation tablets just bought one months ago now and iPhone 14 pro max and my first time I am bough and learning how to use with a scratch and never use from the beginning of my life ,because always my older my #1 son did everything for me anything I needed and I loved my (10) I took with me even at work to watch movies at break time,because I choose wi-fi with cellular and from now from now I will buy with cellular with this side or mini tablets that I planning for next year to give to my daughter birthday. Well I personally recommend the 9th gen since it uses the same cable as a phone so if you own a phone or your 7 y/o owns a phone you have less of a risk of losing the charger and it also is good for basic school stuff because it’s not as advanced as the others but it’s also good and for gaming I think most games that children play (roblox, Minecraft, COD etc.) are compatible there (not sure) and it’s not as expensive as the others!

I agree with u on this. In my country, it costs $700 due to the conversion rate for the "entry level" ipad 10 not including the pencil. Lacks pencil 2 support, non laminated display and a shitty charging system for the pencil. Its just not worth the price.

All the external Apple keyboards for iPad are expensive. The MK is $300 for the Air. It’s probably because a Tablet doesn’t need one & Apple has got jokes. That there 10 is an iPad you get for your 8 yr old for school or for someone just watching Videos and FaceTime who likes the ease of Apple OS & it’s pre installed Apps. (In the US anyway.) No keyboard or extra gigs required. Nice review.

It’s crazy to me this and the Ipad Air are about in price parody with the M1 & M2 Macbook Airs. The software needs to be better and a competitive alternative to Mac or they need to start melding the two together. I personally am tired of buying an Ipad and Macbook to do all the things I want so I snagged a Surface Pro 8 for $950 to include keyboard. Its ALOT cheaper. There are things that aren’t as convenient and it may not always look the nicest but I would take the short comings based on the price differences. Apple is a mainstream product. Sure there’s an Apple tax but it shouldn’t be on their bottom tier products.

iPad 10th Gen is good enough for pretty much a lot of people. For calls, iPad 10 has a landscape cam, Which is good. For games, yeah it is great too, for simply reading e-books, browsing the web, and consuming content, amazing too. For using the pencil for taking small notes/big notes it is good too. Not the best but good, and drawing.... only good for BEGINNERS in digital art. For people who are already good in digital art, this iPad is not good, and to upgrade from an older apple ipad with ONLY apple pencil 1 support, it is good too. The bad things is 64gb in 2022/2023, and the non-laminated display, not good for experienced artists(artists who did art for a good amount of time), and yeah, the price... 450, the whole adapter thing for apple pencil 1 charging. Apple pencil 2 support would require the landscape cam to be removed or moved into a notch. Now to solve all those bad things, apple could do: - 64gb in 2022/2023: simply increase it to start at 128gb, but that would cause the iPad to be more expencive. Unless they are kind enough to make 128gb be cheaper than or exactly the price of 64gb. - the non-laminated display: simply make it laminated, but that also would cause the iPad to be more expencive, unless they are kind enough to make it cheaper. - Move the landscape camera into a notch, that could cause yall to complain(maybe), but it would give space for apple pencil 2. Like that. With apple pencil 2 artists would be able to draw maybe better, but it would NOT be begginer friendly.... i think. - price: Reduce the price from 450 to a way cheaper price - the whole adapter thing for pencil 1: simply put lightning by the side of the usb-c. Like that, the adapter to usb-c would be useless... and the ipad would support the pencil 1 AND 2. But fixing all those problems could cause the air and pro be a little useless, or... maybe not, as they would have a better processing/chipset.(M1, M2 and the upcoming M3.) So yeah, this is everything i have to say...
