As a professorial in the field, have a wider base and place your screws around the perimeter in direct line of removal. Placement in the bays signifies nothing other then differences. Line of sight to where they belong in the unit. Imagination comes into play when they are in the center but you can work that out with the same premise.

ifixit magnetic project mat with labels. It's the most explicit method that doesn't require maintaining or remembering disassembly orientation or fasteners in the center. Relying on such a line of sight method is a recipe for confusion.

You don't need to power off device to heat & open. & sometimes good to leave turned on. You can see when LCD fades is too much heat. Early warning signals.
