Hi. Yes I tried it with a prepaid sim card and it works. But take note that you can only use the sim data. No calls/text unless it's iMessage. That means, you can only call/text with other people who uses ios devices.

I have cellular Rose Gold, Green Wifi. technically the green was free for i used the stimulus check so i dont feel too guilty having 2 colors lol One nice thing about silver is you can buy cases of all colors and it will match

No you can't send regular text message. But you can send iMessage. It's for apple devices only. If hindi nka iPhone/iPad and sesendan mo hindi pwede. But the good thing is pwede mo lagyan ng Sim na prepaid or postpaid. You can use data to connect to internet.

If it's for note taking, it would be enough. But when you say storing study materials, it would depend on what materials. If you talk about educational videos and full pdf books, you might need some more storage. You also have to consider for how long you need to store them? Is it until you graduate? IF yes, you'd definitely need a lot more. But if you can delete some of them every now and then, it may be ok.
