I don't kow if its just me, but when it comes to the comparison between an iPad and an iPad Pro, I honestly think that an iPad Pro ist just too expensive and not the best bang for your buck compared to the other iPads, even my classmates (German A-Levels) confessed that they only got the iPad Pro because they wanted it, not because they needed it. Still an awesome device, no question.

Great vid. Def subscribed because this is exactly what I needed to hear with the Apple event just happening. As a student, my Air is perfect. I use all compatible accessories and would only upgrade to experience the M1 chip, the swift(er) background refresh, and the upgrades made to the camera on the latest Pro. I’ll kick it with my air and just might trade in or sale in next year to grab the next Air. The latest Mini is a little reach regarding screen size :(

As a student, I used my ipad for two things: note taking and storage. In my opinion (as a “basic” student) the only selling point of the ipad pro is the availability of a larger screen (12.9 inches) making it easier for note-taking while screen splitting. After that, I don’t have any idea what to do with that extra power/ “kick” of the ipad pro.

@@shivaayritik6680 the app takes storage but the notes itself goes on your iCloud storage not the device itself. So 64gb if device storage is still a lot if mainly used for notes. I just purchased the iPad Air 4 and have been using it for a week now and I absolutely love it and I use only 10 Gb of storage with the apps I put on it and everything else is iCloud.

I recently bought the iPad Air 4 instead of Pro because I wasn't looking for a laptop replacement and the 256GB Air is still cheaper than the 128GB Pro, which was the cheapest Pro version. I have a base MacBook Pro 16" with 16gb of RAM and when it comes to video editing and rendering with Thunderbolt external drives, the base IPad Pro 11 performs the same tasks 4 to 5 times faster with no fan noise (as their is no fan). Also, the IPad Pro is exceptionally good at having numerous tasks open (10-15) at the same time with not degradation in performance. The best way to describe is the IPad Air is a V6 while the IPad Pro is a V8 Twin Turbo.

The way I see it, 120 hz vs 60hz is the biggest feature. that being said I recently changed my PC monitor from a 60 hz to 144 hz (yes I know it's a bit more than 120) and it was a day and night difference so I am really tempting to go with the ipad pro and call it, seems like it's gonna last for years to come too with the powerful hardware even tho I probably only gonna use it for studies, taking notes and stuff like that

I agree with your conclusion. *If all you are going to do on the iPad is web browsing, media consumption, and note taking, go for the cheapest air. You are not missing out.* You don’t need more than 64gb for these use cases and if you ask me, the pro features are not worth the extra money. I initially went from Air 4 256 gb to 2021 Pro 11’ 128gb but recently sent back the pro so I can rebuy and take advantage of the free air pod offer. Instead I think I’m going to go for the Air 4 64gb. I would’ve happily stuck with the pro if games on the App Store weren’t so lackluster.

Exactly! I am a biology student with an iPad Air 4 64gb too and i used like 22gb only after 8/9 months of use. Yes i do make sure i clean and delete unnecessary stuff to maintain the storage but 64gb is definitely doable for students. And there are times i feel like my Air is an overkill for my daily task. I think even the regular iPad 8th gen will be enough for me. *”WANTS”* is what makes us constantly considering the best iPad. Before, i was torn between the 8th gen or air 4. Now that i have air 4, i was swayed by the pro and secretly wished for it. But is that really what i need? Definitely not. The Air 4 served me so well and i feel that most student will be fine with it.

So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

I do not have any Apple iPad but I personally think the iPad Air 4 is the best for students. It has an A14 processor(Which outshines other processors of other tablets) and it also has support for Apple Pencil 2. I also feel that the Air has a moderate price which is key in finding a good student tablet.

@@Fallenknight1 Sorry for a late answer. I’m currently studying language grammar school (the hardest version) and I’m really satisfied. I also edit videos on it so I can only recommend. However technologies are changing really fast and I think in perhaps 4 years there will be something new and more helpful. However (part 2 or idk haha) my school starts at 8am and end at 2:30 pm (i’m in first grade now so thats why it is so short) but the iPad survived the whole week (yes I was really using it almost every lesson) for a one charge. It react extremely good with apple pencil and I don’t feel a big difference between pro and air (i’m not a technique ofc). Everything works perfectly and I’m using iCloud so I don’t even have problems with storage. I will probably study to be a psychologist/ therapist or something connected to psychology so I think I understand what you want in future. It’s really good to see the iPads before you are going to purchase one because of the size of screen. iPad Pro has of course bigger screen so it may can be better when you are using splitted screen mood hut the iPad Air 4 is also quite big I would say. My sister has Samsung and compared to mine it’s smaller! I couldn’t recommend more and I’m extremely happy I was able to get one! For now, the iPad air is perfect 🤍

Awesome video for the eyes of students! I'm a Junior film student and I have no idea if I'll be using it for professional level. Although I am certain that I'm planning to buy it nice once and use it as long as it goes. I'm mainly going to use it as a class note-taking instead of my heavy gaming laptop, as well as some daily tasks like sending emails, video calls, etc. Although... I'm planning to use it more on the creative side too, such as a controller while working on music (DAW), notation, and not-so-intensive video & photo editing. Also I think I'll be drawing 2D characters a lot too, as a hobby (that means Apple Pencil is a must for me!). Not a student but happily bought an iPad Air 4 256gb for only $500 still has 10 months warranty left! Try to look for used iPad Air 4 as it really is the best bang for the buck out there. It is almost the same price of iPad 8th gen 128gb. No one should buy the 32gb anymore. Used iPad Pro 2021 is still high while iPad Pro 2020 will be most likely out of the warranty already.

How good are iPads with simple things such as dropping files in Moodle for uni students and multitasking (is it as good as opening atleast 2-3 files side by side on a Windows laptop and interchangeably dropping files and certain slides in Words/PowerPoint apps?....hope that question makes sense) Or can you just open apps side by side and only scroll and read on iPad?

Ipad really is useful. It helps reduce paper waste. Having to buy notebooks and pens for school. Also much easier for the teachers to grade instead of having so many papers. So its really useful and also i would recommend it for others if you have the money

I got the air 256gb. BUT LET ME EXPLAIN WHY! So first and for most: 64gb for any device today is not enough. When I transferred all of my data I actually ended up at 60gbs before I even actively used my iPad. Unless you do not use your device almost at all or purely for documents(if that’s the case you don’t need an iPad) then you eventually will run out of space. With something so expensive you need to be sure you won’t run into issues later. So yes. Buying that version does put it in the range of the pro. But for me I do a lot of work that requires space as well as art. So I was planning on buying the pencil which is $130. Buying the 256gb air still saved me around $60 compared to the lowest version of the pro which would give me less space(I do want to clarify that I think 256gb is too much but they made it that way to force people to buy the pro. So I still have more over less which doesn’t hurt). You could also use the same argument for the M1 with the more Over less but you have to think realistically about which of the “more” you can actually use. You’d have to do an absurd amount of stuff all at one time on the M1 to fully use its power and that’s not physically possibly on the current OS. On paper, like it’s said in the video, there is no real noticeable difference between the two. For your every day person which is 90% of us we’d never come close to using that much power and the refresh rate is something you notice only if you are use to that. So yes for me it made sense to get the air. That Money I saved went to the pencil and it’s also worth noting that unlike iPhones, iPads last a significantly longer amount of time so technically I could use this ipad for 5-10 years if it doesn’t break 😂. If you are really pressed for money I wouldn’t even consider any iPad or device $500+ because at the end of the day, these are still luxury items. You don’t need an iPad. But if you can dish out the money and know exactly what you want then on paper it does just make sense to get the Air 4. Nothing wrong at all with the pro!! it’s a beast, but it’s a beast you can only tame half of. If you don’t plan on buying accessories or anything or honest to god think you won’t need a lot of Space then your best bet is the 64gb Air 100%. If you want the M1 then go for it if you have the money. If you are like me and need that expensive middle ground then I seriously think the 256gb air isn’t a bad option. I personally wanted to spend the least amount of money for the most amount of value possible(only considered these two iPads, I know I could have gotten something cheaper). and that was my best option ! I ended up dropping 816 instead of 871 so after accessories I still didn’t break 1k which would have happened if I got the pro. Just laying this out for people who are broke. Between those two as I’ve seen many comments on other videos wondering this.

I was about to purchase ipad air when the newest ipad pro released. Got me seriously question myself if I should just get the pro since it is the newest release, but then I don't need all those monster spec as I'm only gonna use it casually like note taking, netflix, and occasionally drawing for work related stuffs, as for gaming I usually use my PC and I work from home most of the time so, get the pro if you NEED that monster spec and you work on mobile most of the time, get the air for a casual use and save the bucks.

I am a freshman law student and I'm considering buying an iPad between these two as a secondary device for my MacBook Air with M1. Basically, I will use it just like how average uni college was, meaning, note-taking, presentation-making, reading books, vid classes, studying apps, storage all my class-related documents, and I sometimes drawing as a hobby but I also want to keep it for 5 - 10 years so that I can use it for work too. sorry for the late reply but both iPads are definitely enough for notetaking if you already have a MacBook. go with the Pro if you care a lot about the refresh rate (120hz vs 60hz) otherwise they're basically the same device

iPad Pro comes with much more features plus more base storage. The 120 hz screen is incredible and I wouldn’t use any other not having the pro.

Both are definitely powerful enough to do basic video editing but the iPad Pro’s Thunderbolt 4 port might be useful if you transfer a lot of files via USB C!

For just $200 u get, more ram , more storage, better camera, faster chip, better writing experience(120hz) and if macOS apps are announced on Ipad then it is also future proof. So Yes , I would definitely go for Ipad pro.

Both devices doesn’t really have much of a difference and some differences that the ipads compared as aren’t much noticeable. I myself bought the Ipad pro just because I wanted it not because it has much advantage than the other ipad

If you need your iPad for graphics since you’re an archi student, I recommend iPad Pro 👌👌 but if you need your iPad for just writing notes, reading pdfs, watching videos, iPad Air is more practical. But if i’m an archi student too, I’ll get the iPad Pro

depends on how many years of use you're planning, how much local storage vs cloud you are using, how much of your life (in the form of apps) you are placing in this. (Judging by my phone storage use: 64gb is NOT enough... I will have to micromanage and keep streamlining apps etc on the device)

I don’t consider buying an iPad Pro as a student (expect if you’re in a career like design or media that you can take full advantage of the processing power). I’ve been watching “iPad for students” videos and they only compare Air vs Pro. Is the classic iPad not even worth it? I’m just looking for note taking and emails, casual game or KZbin.
