I get a lot of comments about the 'latency' - you're seeing brush stabilisation, not latency! It's a setting in CSP for smooth lineart and I have it turned up to 100 (max) for the lines! There is no latency haha.

I've been looking for a proper artist who'd do art on the Air 2020 for a while but all i found were ipad pro users talking about how they can't live without the 120 Hz refresh rate. I personally draw on the 2018 standard iPad and honestly i have no problem with the refresh rate at all! Rn I'm trying to save up for the iPad air 2020 though because my old one is getting a bit slow and old :'D

@Nobody Nobody Nope that’s not an option on ipads unfortunately. The only thing you can do is buy more iCloud space but that’s a cloud service, not the actual space on the ipad. But i currently have the ipad air 2020 64gb version and i’d say this space is more than enough for light usage!

I went the same route and bought the Air instead of the Pro to try out and get away from sitting at my desk. I have not received my Air yet so thanks for the preview. I figure if I just love drawing on the Air I can get a larger iPad down the road and hopefully they have some less expensive ones in the future… like an Air 13 :)

So glad to see you're back! ♥ I got the Ipad pro almost 2 years ago (the 11 inch with the 2nd gen apple pencil) and it's been my go-to for digital art ever since. I've used it exclusively to design all my buttons for conventions and it's just so much fun. I got procreate for it and I really like it, but I haven't gotten CSP yet... I just hate the idea of paying a subscription for a program lol

Nah it doesn't bother me in the slightest! My Cintiq is an old one too so it works well for me! My partner is a big fan of smooth displays but it doesn't give me strong opinions either way. Saved a few hundo that way!

I love my ipad , but ive had it for a lot of years and i feel ready to upgrade for a larger storage size. The 32 gig gets over taken too much and i had to remove a lot of art to draw more.

I've been thinking of getting an ipad for a year or so, I think it would help a lot with my productivity since I have chronic pain and sometimes can't get myself out of bed to sit at my computer, and traditional media can get too messy and is too inconvenient to use in bed. The only problem is how much they cost LOL. maybe someday though!

Ilasja You don’t need an iPad Pro or iPad Air4 to draw, you can also do it on a basic iPad, it is compatible with the 1st gen apple pen, which is also cheaper. That is what I did, as I was on a budget, and I am really happy about it.

@@ilasja5639 I prefer the apple pencil 2 as it makes me want to draw more. But if you can't afford it yet just build up to it. Trust me though in the end of you had to choose between the old ways of the iPad and pencil. I would go with new. I stopped drawing because it was too cumbersome to draw constantly forgetting to charge the pencil and always having it at 0% in the future you will want any ipad that supports the pencil 2. If you're just doing art for yourself. Get the air. If you're doing it for serious /fun work etc think about the air or the 11 inch. I have the 12.9 though because I get claustrophobic with screen space lol. I hope you can get one! The pencil 2 is amazing. My apple store gave me really nice deals. I got airpods pro for only 80 or 90 dollars on discount. But only lasting till the 27th. Always watch out for deals or getting a tablet with cellular and getting 200 dollars back like I did with my tablet. No matter what route you go. Go with the pencil 2

6:30 after a while the battery will give in. the biggest drawback. and make sure you backup your work elsewhere other than your iPad. My 2017 pro just died and I lost 3 years of procreate work

I use a lot of cloud backup apps so I should be okay! Also I've not seen any direct issues with the battery yet! My old iPhones were v bad for battery though, yet my ipads have always had decent battery!

As I'm at home mostly right now, I can plug it in freely anywhere, but if I was heading out and knowing I'd use it a lot, I'd take a power bank. I always factor for dead batteries haha.

Oh the lag on this video is actually stabiliser! It's a pen setting for extra smooth lines :) There's no latency issues on my end with either software!

5:55 wait- does 60 hz display makes that much latency difference? I have watched many comparison videos and people said that it isnt even that different to the eyes. But your line literally follows your pencil in non slow motion recording. does it effect your drawing? I really wonder :D

It's probably because the stabilization is high for the brush. Had that same problem for CSP on PC.

It's just because of my pen stabilisation, yeah :) Essentially I work on 100% stabilisation as my lineart skills are awful!! I turn it to 0 for sketching and filling in areas.

I’m a traditional artist and I wanted to get into digital drawing for ages. Now is a good time for me to get an iPad as I’m also planning on using it for uni for note taking. But I’m really not sure if I should go for the Air or the Pro. The Air with the bigger storage is only £20 less than the 11 inch pro, and I’m also thinking that the pro would be better in the long run? I’m still indecisive if I should invest in the pro or not.

Honestly I've had no issues with the air but it's completely up to you! I think with all my cases and the extra nibs and screen protectors it's added up to less than the cost of the bigger Air too so I was super happy with that. None of the pro features are anything that I've needed or missed! Honestly I don't think it's hugely necessary to get the pro and save your money! 😊 I do only use my iPad for drawing exclusively though which I think prolongs its lifespan too.

Ive been looking for a cheap ipad to solely draw on, i was debating om gettung the mini 6 but i do want to use it for more than just sketching. I just bought an ipad air 4 second-hand, it should be coming in the mail soon, im so nervous. Ive alsways wanted to try procreate, i have been using photoshop in my laptop for around 6 years to draw, using the smallest screenless wacom. Ive honestly made great use of it though, its not always about the tools, but how you use them. But im in uni now and EVERYONE has an ipad and ive been so jealous, procreate just looks so smooth and jelly-like (idk of you get what i mean) but i really want to try it. Im just hoping this second hand ipad still works properly🤞🤞🤞

Haha thank you! I'd say it really depends on how mobile you wanna be. I would definitely recommend an iPad but I use it to accompany my work on my PC, as obviously I use printers and cutters for my stuff, streaming etc. But I can't take my Cintiq away with me and that reduced my productivity loads. I used to use a small screen tablet and a laptop and it would just be so ANNOYING with the cables!

I've been looking into an ipad for awhile. I don't need it as I have a cintiq, but I want to not be tethered to my pc. For the same reason, I felt like I couldn't justify buying an ipad pro when I already had a cintiq and full version of csp ex at my disposal... but I still wanted it. A lot of people online tho say it's pointless to get the Air and only go Pro, and anything less than 12.9 inch and you'll regret it. *shakes head* Nice to see an artist who also chose the Air and seems happy with it. I managed to get a refurbished Air 4 256gb for $300 off it's original new price during a sale, but it won't be in until next week. I'm hoping I made a good choice. Are you still satisfied with the Ipad Air that you recieved or are you considering upgrading? (btw, this video is so aesthetically pleasing to watch, I loved it!)

Oh definitely not! The small one is perfect for me. I have a 21 inch Cintiq as well and going down to the ipad's 10 inches has been a great swap for me. Because of the zooming and rotation functions I dont feel its too small :)

@@estahxo Having the Ipad Air 4 is an excellent experience and performance, without problems, it works very fluidly, the only detail to consider is the fact that having 4gb ram limits a bit the layers of the procreate program for example, but it is not something that really causes you problems, the performance will always be fine, example a 3000x4700px format with 300ppi, it gives you 34 layers to use.

As a studio artist, this thing can do some sketch, or some rough concept art. But for real job, its totally not enough ram, it will frozen when u open too much layers.

I think it's fine for designers! I dont have an ipad pro so I can't comment, but mine is great for my own work. I also use a PC as my ipad is a secondary tool.

Hi! Unfortunately not, you have a few default Apple apps, but you can get Illustrator and Photoshop apps on the iPad I believe. With both my ipad and PC I use Clip Studio and I use Procreate a lot now on my iPad! Both are not installed on an iPad and you have to pay small amounts for them.
