I only use my iPad for drawing, and I plan to work as a freelance artist full-time, so I desperately need an upgrade... I'm leaning towards the Air 11" but I'm unsure. I'm not bothered about having a giant screen because I'm used to drawing on my current iPad which is about 8". Thoughts? 🙈

Hey Summer! If you are going to use the iPad in your freelance business full time and you have the budget for it, I’d recommend the newest iPad Pro 11 512gb - it will serve you for a super long time and you wont be bothered by storage. Plus depending on rules in your country it would most likely be a business expense too! If your budget is limited then the 2024 iPad Air 11 is a great value choice! Enjoy your new iPad! ❤️

I always compare it to what size of sketchbook do you like to sketch in? The 13" feels quite big if you want to draw on the couch, however I made it work, so it's really based on your personal preference!

Is it normal for pencil pro to go battery low in 3 hours of drawing?

Hey Ben, could be if you draw without breaks ... which pencil is it? With Pencil 1 I remember I had to charge it more often than my current Apple Pencil 2 which magnetically attaches so whenever I have a break during the long drawing sessions I just attach it without thinking.

@ it’s the new pencil pro, i bought it 2 months ago but it goes to 20% battery in just 3 hours of continuous drawing.

Ah right, now I see you wrote pro in your first comment. Yes the new Pro can go to low battery very quickly bcs of the new features - especially the squeeze and haptic feedback. For example I set the squeeze shortcut to the color picker and when blending the colors I used it like every 10s and then it was losing battery quite fast. In that drawing sessions I took several breaks when it charged quite fast, but obviously never to 100% …

iPad Air is such a downgrade from iPad Pro two less speakers, no Face ID, less vibrant colors, no smooth promotion 120 hz though not needed but nice. If they had Face ID and and better colors I’d say it would be not worth getting pro but that is just not the case
