Hey, I purchased an ipad air 5 yesterday in Australia. My first apple product. I kept it for charging on my adaptive fast charging Samsung adapter and it stayed at 3% for 2 or more hours which was scary. I unboxed the charger I got from apple and plugged it. Yes this is a general issue on older devices. Apps running in the background on your iOS or iPadOS device can deplete the battery faster than normal, especially if data is being constantly refreshed. Thanks for this information. I never considered the power cord or brick would be the problem. The cord is in great shape, but I just started using a brick to free up a USB and didn’t realize that could make a difference. Just an hour or so after putting the USB back into the charger (minus the brick) and I’m at 100% power; stuck in the 40 to 50% range for the previous 24, so thank you again…very much!
