I got mine for Christmas as a kid in 2013, I still have mine to this day! But unfortunately the battery is just not that great anymore. Takes hours to power back on and doesn’t really fully charge anymore. The most battery it would get is around 20%-50% nowadays. Sad to see how it may give up soon but I’m just happy to have my first iPad still!

Just got one for $10 at a flea market. Perfect collectors piece and it runs my 32 bit games like Sonic all stars racing. It’s also perfect for importing movies (dvd rips) for trips. It’s great also if you have kids or if you want to learn to fix apple devices

@ I rip my personal DVDs to my computer, and convert to .mp4 or I’ll just torrent and get the .mp4 and files should stay around 2gb each movie

Still have mine and i thought it’s a goner since haven’t using it for a while. Surprisingly despite having a horrible glitch, it still works okay with spotify! No lags. Battery seems to still work okay as well. Gonna be my music player at home instead of my iphone.

I purchased the ipad mini 1st gen 64gb model off of eBay a couple years ago for $24 so I can use my older apps I've had in my apple account since 2009. I'm surprised a good majority of the apps still work, games like Sheep Launcher and Pole Position Remix still runs and looks great on it.

Use it as a wall-clock. I have my original one hanging on the wall for several years. (Modern Apps refuse to work with it of course.)

The fact that they stopped supporting this device made me not wanna ever buy another. Specifically because the one I have is still perfectly usable. A waste of tech. Feels horrible that they'd rather us chuck it into a landfill and buy a new one instead of keeping it relevant for as long as humanly possible.

I have this, and it's not able to download any apps. KZbin in Safari works a little funny. Basic apps ONLY. Still good for storage and simple web browsing.

I'm surprised the iPad mini first generation actually ended up on iOS 9.3.5 while the fourth generation got Iowa 10.3.3 and 10.3.4

4 months late but the iPad mini 1 does use the A5 chip which was in the iPhone 4S and not the A6 chip in the iPhone 5 and 5C and about all the A5 devices can be updated to iOS 9.3.5 or 9.3.6

There are hacks and tricks on how you can download/install apps. You just need another device (updated device) and an Apple ID. There are video tutorials here on YT.

you need to replace the battery because it can't hold a charge anymore, i recommend just upgrading to an ipad 9th gen because theyre getting cheaper and are relatively still fast

Older android tablets and phones as old as iPad 1 minni would not even run hardly most android devices don't have the longevity that apple devices do. You pay more money upfront but they perform better longer.

Yup. That’s why I stopped watching his reviews. So much potential.. but at the end of the reviews it’s always “but yeah, you shouldn’t get this in 202X” Instead of actually doing a review of the uses for it. I usually try to avoid his reviews but I gave this one another opportunity, needless to say it was disappointing as well.
